My boys at fau were all 4-5 year starters and never once attended a class or had to pay anyone to do their work for them. It was just taken care of.

They all have degrees now too.
What’s sad and unfortunate about that is now those same guys likely can’t even get a job as an Asst. DC at a high school. Guys should take their education seriously because football is a young man’s game that requires luck not to get injured.

Education is your fall back that often times becomes a necessity.

My son leaves for college to play D2 football in July - luckily for me, he’s had two uncles that played in the NFL, for a combined 4 years, so he sees that both of them had the glory for a moment and then it was gone. I didn’t have to argue with him or try to convince him of taking his education seriously because he sees now as he has one uncle in Charlotte still trying to be a “rapper”, and the other is doing okay for himself as he used his earnings to open a fitness facility and he’s a personal trainer.

My kid is majoring in Computer Science and while I acknowledged to him that, yes it will be difficult, but the trade off is that he’s securing his “long term” BAG.

I understand that everyone has different capabilities similar to the fact that everyone can’t become doctors or neurosurgeons etc, but I wish these young men being offered free education would at least take advantage of it to the level of where at minimum they can become PE teachers in school and be able to articulate themselves and be respected as a legitimate college educated graduate.

Andre Johnson was in my American Literature I class. I saw Dre in class exactly 2 times, but the cute chick he sat with those 2 times was there every day.

Opposite spectrum was Quad Hill, who always made it to class, even early morning ones after a late night game. Makes sense. Dre knew it was a waste of time. Quad knew he likely wouldn't make a living off pro ball.

Your son is blessed to have guidance from a wise father.
I salute you.
As you said, exploit the opportunities given to you instead of being exploited.

David Pollack was saying how he’s talked to coaches from across the sport that say kids are just paying off people to write their papers for them

So basically what David is saying is that his sauces are himself.
