He put up 34 on North Carolina not saying he should be oc but I believe Mario should have given him a shot last year as Ponce runs more of a spread scheme then what gattis was running

You can’t just flip a switch and change an offense. It takes time to learn new plays. An entire off season. The real move was to have a WR coach like Beard work with Ponce from the get go.

We put up 31 on UNC while taking an entire quarter off, fumbling a TD on the 1 foot line. Weird fanbase we have here.
Yeah, our problem isn’t dropping the ball at awkward times and poor QB play, it’s that we don’t have a different OC. What’s that thing they say about the grass being greener?

I get it. It's natural to always look at other people's stuff and say, "What could have been?". We aren't where we should be by any means on O, we aren't consistent enough, but we have gotten better from last year and players are getting reps and confidence in some positions. We still need to be better though.

Im with @mcnaire2004 on this one.

Ponce was a solid hire for UM. Sadly he was stuck under a buffoon of an OC. Had the situation been different, I could see a scenario where Ponce might have stayed here as OC. The situation Mario was in after last season was such that Mario had no choice but to bring in a more proven play caller.

It would not surprise me if UM and Frank Ponce cross paths again in the future.

So he is the OC version of dIAZ

Anybody notice that frank Ponce has app state as the number 17 ranked offense currently, would have been nice to see what he could do as oc at Miami if Mario would have fired gattis mid-season given Ponce a shot seems like gattis basically tuned him and had his analyst coaching quarterbacks.
I am not going to agree or disagree because as of now, I don’t really think it matters.

Have you seen what our HC does to OCs and QBs?
