Frank Ponce

I would hope that Ponce would only be in consideration for QB coach, but wouldn't the new OC want to bring in his own guy or have say as to whom would occupy that role?

In a competent organization yes but that’s not what we are running here

They were 16th in scoring offense and 38th in total yards. Scored 31 offensive points at Penn State. Put up numbers in conference and won the championship game. Does App State just recruit better and have more talent than the rest of the conference because on the surface the numbers look good?

He didn’t call plays so..

After further review I rebuke this entire ******* thread.

I refuse to believe Manny would do this to the fanbase. I won't believe it's Frank's Ponce until it's officially announced. If and when it's officially announced, I'll officially give up any hope on Manny before it even begins.

This guy CANNOT be the offensive coordinator here. Plain and simple. The OC hiring will tell us everything we need to know about Manny the HC before his tenure even begins.

Let's sit back and watch my friend. After what I've witnessed here both tonight and over the last 20 years.....the pattern screams some form of incompetence is coming. Nobody want's a top notch OC more than I do, but I won't believe it until he's signed, sealed , and delivered. Multiple sources have tweeted out about this Frank Ponce clown now. It just feels like everytime there is a bad rumor lately...it comes true with regards to this program.

Who are these multiple sources?

Who are these multiple sources?

Peter Ariz, who I know has become a joke but it's obvious he has some sort of tie in with Manny's clan cause he hinted at his hire a couple of hours before it was formally announced. Also, Stefan Adams from this site said he heard the same thing.

Brace yourself for the depths of Hades.

Satterfield has a great offense but he will not miss a beat with ponce gone. Satt offense are all about running the ball. Rushing offense is usually top 25 in the nation. And this guy is pass game coordinator. Once again dude has never called plays.

Diaz is not giving full control of the offense to Frank Ponce. Diaz might not be a great hire but he's not dumb.

Ponce would almost certainly be the QB coach here, which would be a solid hire
Why would he hire a QB coach before hiring the OC? If he hires Ponce it’ll be as OC. And we’ll have an entire mom and pop staff learning on the job.

Exactly.

We have absolutely ZERO reason to believe that some big splash OC is coming on board. The way this thing is being run (and has been run) there is no reason to expect anything like that. Expect the opposite.
Exactly. All these national searches seem confined to Coral Gables. Expect more mom and pop garbage. With Brian Flanagan and Doug Coughlin spinning bottles on D and the Cafe Bustelo offense with Ponce this trash will be uniquely Miami.

PONCE COACHED AT Central Northwesters and Miami high under Tim Ice Harris. Ponce has the gift of gab he can talk his *** off. Dont know what type of offense he runs now a days.

Same people who hit Rick over nepotism don’t see a hint of it with Miami Manny with their second choice Cristoballs. Manny isn’t even a Cane he is just another FSU crank. If his name was Joe Smith people would be hanging Blake from The Biscayne Bell Tower right now.
