Frank surpassed 12,000 rushing yards in today's game! Pretty amazing for a guy that blew out both knees in college. One can only wonder what his #s would be if he hadn't had those knee injuries. He was so smooth as a freshman, particularly against West Virginia. Congrats Frank!!!
Everything you look for in a football player. Pure RB. Perfect pad level. Preternatural vision. Excellent short area. Always gets extra. Murders blitzers and pass rushers in protection of his QB.
One of my all time favorites.
I've said this story before:
When I was in HS, I got myself into a little trouble. As part of a "community service" program because of it, I was sent to a Boys and Girls Club to cut trees and such. Guy who I was assigned to asks where I'm going one day. I tell him I have to leave to football practice. He says his nephew would roast me. We laugh. He then tells me that his nephew will be the best RB Dade county will have ever seen. We talk about the Davis brothers and others. He says wait and see.
I see him a few years later as I stood on the sideline of Greentree to watch us practice during our dominance in the early part of this century. He walks by and recognizes me. Smiles and points "I told ya."
I still remember watching him live, as a true frosh when he came in knees up legs churning like roger craig from the niners the id was like a bowling ball-- I felt awful at the first knee injury--never could've conceived he would do what he has. Pure CANE-- will, desire, effort.
One of my lasting pro memories of Frank will be something very recent. Him gashing the Dolphins and then Canes fans posing as Fins fans congratulating him in the endzone after a monster TD run.
