I really like this player. His awareness is off the charts. I think he will grow to a very good starter.

They do affect recruiting. It just ain't that big.

For us these games are HUGE.

We have to erase the narrative being used against us. We don’t have the traditional atmosphere of underachieving programs who have money to spend ( Texas, aTm, Oregon). We don’t have the results to sell like OSU, Georgia, Bama, LSU. Not winning, not in the draft.

So what exactly can we point to to make recruits choose us when the money is similar? City life? Family atmosphere? Yeah it’s time to get our heads out our asses. If we want the big time recruits over the big boys CONSISTENTLY, we HAVE TO WIN. We HAVE TO get guys drafted HIGH. Have have to get into the Power 2.

I wouldn’t give a **** if Mario was the Wolf of Wall Street. He won’t be able to outsell our elite competition without tangible results.

No, it’s really not if u understood recruit rankings & simple mathematics.

Zion Elee is the #1 overall recruit with the highest composite score of .9994. We could flip him today & we would still be behind UT in our per. In fact, we would need to flip him & get Davon Benjamin to commit just to past them. So to ur eyes “we’re right behind them,” but in reality they have a two 5* lead in recruiting.
Or we can drop a couple of our lowest ranked commits and have the effect… so maybe they’re a couple of 5 stars ahead or maybe they are just a couple of projects behind 😎

i was with u until the bolded.

GETTING INTO THE POWER 2 DOESNT CHANGE MUCH FOR MIAMI.

The kids that will be coming here will be coming here for MIAMI...not because of an sec or big 10 patch on the jerseys.

that's on looking at it from the perspective of if everything remained as it currently is.

It is VERY likely things could be dramatically worse/different if Clemson/FSU/UNC all left and got into the SEC and the ACC and B12 TRULY became 2nd class citizens in the CFB world.

Right now the ACC has some strong programs/brands. However if the power 2 TRULY became the power 2, it absolutely would matter that we were in it or not. Today I agree not all that impactful. "Tomorrow"? I think it absolutely matters

I agree. And, I think Miami is doing things behind the scenes to secure the future. When the ACC splits I believe Miami will go to the B10.

I cannot argue against your knowledge of DBs. But I'm hoping you're wrong. Day had some airtime in that first hype video released by the school last night. So coaches clearly like what he brings.

I don't see any one of our Safeties as having locked down a position, even Poyser and Scott. I expect a lot of movement back there throughout camp and over the course of the season.
Poyser locked down a spot the moment he entered the portal. Who's taking it from him?????

I haven't a clue. Depends on whether we're playing him at free or strong or nickel. Harris suggested they'd play him at multiple spots. And I could easily see a cast of guys being on the field instead of him at times. Day, Brown, Lucas, Brantley, Williams,... heck even Taylor has played more P4 snaps than Poyser. And then you have the new freshmen who may have a say as the season progresses..

I know we're all psyched about Blay, Charmar and Poyser. But until they're playing lights out against legit P4 competition, they're going to have to work for their minutes just like everyone else. JMHO.

Neither one of them will be starters be at Miami.

They're backup quality players.
So let me get this straight. Mario signs 4 safeties in 24, two of them are gone already and the other two will be backup types…talk about 4 whiffs at one position! Way to go Cristobal!

I disagree with this one big-time.

It is totally a 2 conference world right now. And although I think we are still spinning wheels on a lot of these SEC states kids, I really do believe we'd have about 2 more kids in the boat right now if we were in the SEC

Cribby and others are hinting towards there is a 200k tax being expected from UM (and I believe others well) amongst the big fish type for NIL.

uf has been in the sec my whole life.

Yall routinely gloss over that fact...That sec patch doesnt move the needle for them on alot of recruits. **** we have spent a few years laughing at their recruiting.

There is a 200k tax because in the NIL World Miami is known as the team PAYING. That 200k tax would still be there if we were in the sec or big ten. The sh*tty game attendance will still be there in the acc or big 10. We are ****** VANDY in the sec which part yall dont understand ( no favors would be done)....and no one cares about the big 10 outside of the midwest....even with the usc and oregon adds...because no one watched them on this side of the country when they were in the pac 10. lol

The folks clamoring for sec are folks that reside in sec territory or big 10 territory. Ppl who actually live in s.fla for the most part could care less. We last wona championship in the BIG EAST.

I ALREADY STATED MY POINT IM COOL WITH GOING INDEPENDENT LIKE nOTRE DAME AND JUST MAKING OUR SCHEDULE OUT IF IT CAME TO IT. Folks line up to sign ten year deals to play notre dame they would do similar to us as sorry as we are our brand still has pull.
