It has been great watching Mali play on top a a great defense. The year before Cam was once in a several decades player, but the dreaded tortuous defense would come out and get shredded. Death by a thousand missed tackles.

I was at the cuse game, and remember us moving the ball at will and the defense completely shutting the bed.

The defense last year was amazing and reminded me what a Miami defense should look like.

Just never expected a true freshman who reclassified to come in and dominate. I was still a little snake but after Trader never really seemed to find his footing and Mali came in and became the center piece of the offense.

his rise was lowkey ... first it was this kid is gonna play ... then it was this kid is gonna lead us in catches, by the time nd rolled around he was pegged as our number one wr ... then he runs out there to field punts opening game vs. nd ... and it's been up ever since
 
Just for the record, this kid, as a 17 year old true freshman who reclassified, did this on the 3rd drive of his first ever college game, on August 31st. Against Notre Dame, on national television:

13 yard catch, 1st down
11 yard catch, 1st down
28 yard catch, touchdown

And, on the 2nd to last drive of the season, in game SIXTEEN, in mid-January, he did this, against the only team to ever go 16-0 in college football history:

8 yard catch
41 yard catch, first down
22 yard catch, touchdown

All he did in-between those drives was electrify a school, fanbase, program, and country, all while being the most humble and hardest working kid on the team.

A cot**** dream, this dude is. For real. What a gift. I pray to god we win a natty with this dude in the next 2 years because he is the definition of the word special.

Showed up, flat dominated from the first time he walked in the building to the last time he walked off the field, as a kid who should’ve been in high school. Incomprehensible.

I thought people were putting entirely too much on him before the season started

Turns out we weren’t giving him nearly enough. Entire season changed when Dawson just said **** it, I’m focusing the entire offense on him

That route, the throw, and the catch against Notre Dame was just perfection. I was watching the game with a bunch of fans of other teams that do know ball pretty well, and everyone just kinda raised their eyebrows after that play

I’m 44 years old. If I start hearing people calling a 17 year old “Baby Jesus”, my eyes are gonna roll in my head like a slot machine at the Wynn.

This kid is Baby Jesus.
