Yawn....
And?
Debunking this whole you need talent argument that's starting to be made. Are we the most talented offense in the nation in terms of personnel? No.
But Purdue has 1 4-star player on their entire roster, yet they were able to move the ball all over one of the most talented teams in the nation.
Again, it's not a talent problem. It's a scheme problem. We have the personnel to put up a good offense is used correctly. But the players aren't being utilized correctly or even developed at certain positions. That's the problem, not talent.
Lol at us not having enough talent to run roughshod through the Coastal....smfhI'm not reading through 5/6 pages. Are people saying we need more talent?
LMAO.
Man c'mon.

So you're saying Ohio State has a massive, unprecedented scheme problem on defense.
Not at all. They're not perfect, but given Meyer's tenure at Ohio State, their loss is considered more of an anomaly. This is more about Purdue outplaying their own talent level whereas we play under our own talent level.
Why should we be throttling everyone else? This is what everyone keeps saying. Do we really have that much talent on our roster on offense? I don’t care about stars or what they did in high school. That **** doesn’t matter. Right now our offense doesn’t stack up well due to either lack of talent at the potision or the kid playing the position is a **** true freshman. It’s dissppinting but it’s the facts. 15 years of use thinking we have superior talent and 15 years of being proven wrong year after year. Time to face the music at some point for our fan base.
I would bet that our WR core is far better than what Purdue rolls out on a week-to-week basis. But what we saw is Brohm use an offense that gets his athletes into space and allow them to spread out Ohio State's defense. It's not the talent that's the problem, it's what everyone has been complaining about since Richt got here - it's the overall scheme, philosophy and general lack of creativity.
Ohio State has the #70 total defense with 66 4- and 5-star players. That isn't a problem, but Miami having the #73 offense without 66 4- and 5-star players is a scheme problem?

^This dude just stopped by to check in.
Don't give two ***** about Ohio State. They're still winning games and have a better track record than we do the last 5 seasons. Schiano will probably be on his way out and Meyer will likely move in another direction.
This thread is about us supposedly not having enough talent on offense, which is absolutely false considering how bad we look going against certain teams like Virgnia and Pitt from last year.
This is another example of how you people try to apply standards to Miami that you don't apply anywhere else in college football. As though we're supposed to operate differently since we is da U. If you don't care about Ohio State, don't point out how much talent they have. That stuff works against you as well.
Huh? Do you know what you're even arguing at this point?
I'm arguing that we DO HAVE ENOUGH TALENT. The premise that fans are walking around with apparently is that we don't and that Richt's scheme and development of players is not the problem.
I just told you that Ohio State is littered with 4 and 5 star players. If Ohio State ends up ranked in the 70's (despite the fact that they're likely be in the playoff conversation in late November) on defense, guess what's going to happen to Schiano? There's no reason that Ohio State should have a bad defense, because they DO HAVE ENOUGH TALENT.
Summary - Miami has enough talent on offense and Ohio State has enough talent on the defense, yet both are underachieving, respectably. Richt has never had a consistent offense here and year 3 we're still having the same issues. If it's a talent problem (which it isn't), than that's on Richt.
Ummmm...do you see the dogg$h!t division we play in? Outside of Clemson and FSU...no one even comes close to the talent on the roster top to bottom. Fine...you want to say stars and recruiting ranking be damned...then guess what the issue is that CMR has done a poor job developing what he has to work with, that's the BOTTOM LINE. Fine...you say we got soft players...guess who's job it is to toughen them up? Look, Bronco came in at the same time as CMR. No ONE with a brain can say they either HAD a better roster at the time or have recruited better since....would you agree on that? Well they had us on the ropes last year and finished us this year...so Bronco is OUT COACHING CMR. I don't give a **** about execution...the UVA QB threw 3 picks and less than a 100 yards...so they didn't execute either. We can agree to disagree...I'm just providing my opinion. And no I'm not a doom and gloom guy...I'm a realist...and realistically I've come to the conclusion CMR is a GREAT guy, BUT he don't got what it takes to win a National Title. Sure we'll win 9-11 games yearly, probably a few Coastals here and there...but that's not what I expect (rightfully or not). So now that I've come to that realization...it is what it is.
Edit: yes I know FSU/Clemson aren't in our division, meant to say they are the only ones in the ACC that can compare in talent (which further supports how crappy the Coastal is).
But I thought you said this: "Not at all. They're not perfect, but given Meyer's tenure at Ohio State, their loss is considered more of an anomaly."
I don't give two $hits either about OSU. Yes they seem to have an issue (I don't know what it is since I don't watch them enough). But here's the thing...I'd be willing to bet Urban will be making some coaching changes to try to rectify the problem (not to mention they have gone thru DC changes so yes there could be some issues schematically). Point being is CMR will NOT (in my opinion) make the necessary changes. He's running plays from 30 years ago for christ sakes, so what more do you need to know? Urban will fire/demote someone (**** maybe himself lol), believe that.Don't give two ***** about Ohio State. They're still winning games and have a better track record than we do the last 5 seasons. Schiano will probably be on his way out and Meyer will likely move in another direction.
