Former OL Landon Tengwall on Indiana Tackles: "I don't think they're that good"

Carter smith shows his hands early, that will get you killed vs bain. Their RT is not good vs power, he will get killed if they don’t help him. I was surprised osu gave bain and mesidor so many 1on1s i just can’t think indiana will try that lol

Also loved that nugget about how the staff looks at power different now that they have seen bain and francis. Especially with edge rushers its so much more valuable than the typical speed rushers. Feel like power rushers build way better counters than speed rushers. Its probably why they went hard after lowe, blount will develop into that too

To beat a team that is always in the right spot at the right time, albeit athletically limited, two things need to happen:

1. You have to get them out of their preferred spots and get them moving into areas where they are not comfortable.

2. You have to make sure that the construction of the defense gets broken apart so that the team cannot move in cohesion.

How can we achieve that? Motion, traffic, and running the football.

He talked at length about how IU's left tackle holds on the bulk of his plays as a function of his mechanics. We know the Big Ten does not call holding as a policy. They compensate for that with tons of pass interference calls. My concern is the officiating for the title game. Are they going to let these IU guys hold on every play?

I really hope we get the SEC crew that we had for the Cotton Bowl game. That was a really well officiated game. They let the teams play. That crew also did the IU-Oregon game where they called multiple holding calls on IU. Although, I kinda felt like those were "media-based" penalties in an effort to keep the game close enough to hold the TV audience.

We'll see.
It’s already been stated that we have a big 12 crew for the game. And I think the big 12 reffed a good game between us and A&M. So I’m good with it.

I like how Bud "upset" Canelo last September in Vegas.

Ignore the outside noise, any and all of the worthless predictions from the pundits
,
Study the tape, find your edges in the battle.

Stick to the game plan, don't get rattled when the other guy lands a shot, quickly regroup and carry on with the business trip

Canes need four quarters of relentlessly methodical football mixed in with a dose or two of Mali when we catch them slipping
