Per the document reviewed by FootballScoop, Kuligowski said Toledo Athletics Director Bryan Blair stated in a an athletics department-wide meeting that Blair wanted Toledo to hire “more coaches who were representative of current student-athletes.”

“It was clear that by “representative,” Kuligowski’s suit alleged, “Blair, as an agent of the University, meant younger and black or African American.”

Kuligowski contended that as a former Toledo student-athlete he was particularly representative of the Toledo student body.

In the 22-page suit, Kuligowski – who said he was fired without due process – filed a formal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) complaint June 21, 2023.
Per the suit, Kuligowski initially received an sexual harassment complaint by a female Toledo athletics employee when he told that employee she had on her “fancy pants.”

Per line 34 of the suit, “The University seized on an opportunity when a false and frivolous report of sexual harassment was filed against Mr. Kuligowski...

lol getting fired for sexual harrasment because you said a woman had on her "fancy pants" is legit funny. Like what are fancy pants? Like I feel like some type of leggings would be the type of pants commenting on would be the most sexual harrasment-y, but I don't think anyone would call those fancy... lol

So let's spot-check Kuligowski's claim.

2022 Head Coach - Jason Candle - white guy - STILL THERE
2022 Co-OC - Mike Hallett - white guy - STILL THERE
2022 Co-OC - Robert Weiner - white guy - STILL THERE
2022 DC - Vince Kehres - white guy - STILL THERE
2022 Co-DC - Ross Watson - white guy - STILL THERE
2022 Co-DC - Craig Kuligowski - not still there

As for Kuligowski's claim that he only innocently said "fancy pants", he neglects to mention that it was the second time he made unsolicited comments to this particular female employee, and it was viewed as retaliation for reporting him for his first comment months earlier.

For the record, this is from the Toledo newspaper, not some random website:

He probably gets a settlement when all said and done
Getting a nuisance value settlement isn't going to be enough to help him long term. Dude is poison in the coaching community, hope he enjoys coaching at the HS level. Maybe he can leverage a deal as a low level guy in the NFL, but that's a long way from being known as one of the best DL coaches in the country.

Age + race discrimination is a real thing. Most, if not all, of the major American corporations have actively tried to become younger and more diverse (code: darker). They want reduce employee costs and virtue signal. So,it is indeed ironic that very liberal laws enacted specifically to aid/protect women and minorities are used by old white guys to avoid getting kicked to the curb.
