Former BTW 5*Ja’Corey Brooks not starting for Bama...

Horrendous takes going on in this thread:

We just had Oklahoma’s scraps (Charleston Rambo)…. Have one the most productive season in our programs history.

You stack talent. Doesn’t matter how or who.
Don't necessarily disagree but I'd take some issue with calling Rambo "scraps". If we really took Oklahoma's scraps then Jadon Haselbum would be on campus.

Yes, but so what? Improve the roster.

Sample size based on 1 game as a TF. Don't be a prisoner of the moment.

Motivation. Saban wouldn't waste his breath if the kid wasn't talented.

He was overrated as a 5*. Agreed. But anyone claiming they wouldn't take him on this team is basing that on an overreaction to the 247 ranking, not his tape.
I'm not going as far as calling him scraps but we need WRs that change life. We don't have an Alpha and after adding Brooks we wouldn't have an Alpha.

Alabama needed a wr not good enough to start for the Buckeyes
OSU wasn't seeking anyone they could find to pass him on the depth chart. It just so happened they had 3 other 1st round WRs on the roster. That scenario does not compare, every scenario is not apples to apples.

Bama went and got Jameson Williams to start and he became their clear number one and dominated. He was the 4th guy at OSU. The only difference is bamas receiver room was better than ours.

You didn't read what I wrote. Bama added WRs in the portal to pass up Brooks. OSU recruited well and Jameson was a casualty of a talented room. Those are not similar situations.

Totally agree. I should have put quotations around scraps because I was just quoting what other posters were saying in here. Regardless of drops or not we knew Charleston Rambo wasn’t scraps coming out of Oklahoma. Just like Brooks isn’t scraps out of Bama.

Unpopular opinion but Ladson is more in line with the term scraps than either one of those two mentioned above

This is not a valid comparison.

Xavier Restrepo is a ******* alpha. But he's a 5'10" slot receiver who isn't going to apply pressure the defense like a 6'3" X-WR with plus athleticism, good speed, and strong hands who turns 50/50 balls into 80/20 balls can.

What we need is a true X-WR. Brooks may not be it and he certainly hasn't proven it at this level, but he's probably closer to being that type of player than anyone on our roster.

He may not have had a good NC game, but he did do this in a pretty critical situation last season:

Xavier Restrepo is our #1 is that a good thing in your opinion?

Bama usually has 5+ guys on their roster who would be WR1 here. Charleston Rambo wouldn't have started there. Brooks can EAD for all I care but let's not be delusional.. doesn't make him a bust.
This isnt true.

Jameson Williams walked in there and started and had arthritis from sitting the bench at OSU.
Rambo wouldve started there last year as well. They lost the mNC because there wrs were pedestrian after Williams was out and i dont think the canadian kid was all that either. So ya.

Of course not. But I'm not the guy saying Bama's second team sophomore is a "hard pass".
He's second team for a reason if you haven't figured out why then I'm not the one to convince you. They needed an upgrade at WR with Brooks on the roster that is the reason he's a hard pass.

If you haven't figured out that Bama's WR roster isn't UM's WR roster, I'm probably not the one to convince you...
But on UM's roster at WR right now, which players (if any) do you believe will end up drafted higher than Brooks?
