Dozens better? You’re an idiot. Mario is the best coach available that would actually come to Miami.

No other coach worth a **** would come and be a part of this half assed athletic department.

I’m not advocating for Mario as Miami’s HC but if he was available I’d give him an interview for sure - especially after taking Oregon’s roster and infusing it with development the likes we haven’t seen in 18yrs. Then hired MUCH better assistant coaches than Diaz has or did. I’m not sure who the **** everyone else thinks is better than Mario though that would come here; with James still here, Strawley, and the rest of the BoT lackeys. It’s going to have to be a Mario type. Or BB, only those 2 would be blinded by loyalty to the program, of which they helped build. Urban you say? Haha right, he’s no idiot. Who else then?

Perception: he had a losing record at FIU and he shouldn't have lost two games this year, therefore, he isn't a legit coach.
Reality: He will finish in front of all coaches in the nation except for Dabo, Oregon, Day and maybe one other coach...perhaps UGA's coach. That's it. None of those coaches will be available to us this year, next year or any time soon.

Perception is that he underperformed with tons of talent. The reality is, he took a team that had gone 4-8 and 7-5 and just won 12 games. won a P5 conference, just won the Rose Bowl and will finish in the top 5.

Logic would say that we should get this coach, if he'll have us.
 
Not sure if Mario is the guy we want but, we’re stuck with Diaz for at least one more year.
When he is let go Miami hasn’t proven that they will go out and get anyone that is proven. Mario May be the best that would come here. I’m not so sure it’s going to be easy to get a proven coach to come here.

Let's look at this with reality, not perception.

If Manny shows any progress we could have an internal battle in the AD/BoT - Speculation. They have a lot invested in him (Reality) and it would seem that some are in protection mode - Speculation

Perception: he had a losing record at FIU and he shouldn't have lost two games this year, therefore, he isn't a legit coach. - Very debatable. The majority of the statement is true, he had a very poor record at FIU, and two losses this season. He had a chance to be in the playoffs and blew it so it is Reality. Saying someone in not a legit coach is Perception as situation can drastically change success factors. DId he do a good job coaching other than the two losses, or is he in the perfect situation - Reality vs Perception.

None of those coaches will be available to us this year, next year or any time soon. - I think you meant to say OU not Oregon? Yes we will not get Dabo, Riley or Day. Reality. However, I do not want Smart, in my humble opinion he is a corch with bags, facilities and an expansive recruiting team, yet he still loses, Reality (if you believe the bags). Now, can you think of another coach in that situation just outside of the playoffs (if you believe the bags) (Reality)? Now Saban is not on your list, and while I know we could never get him, I would take him over any of those coaches.

No, the Reality is that he underperformed if winning MNC's is your goal. If you have reset the bar like many on this board, and winning a weak conference is your goal he was successful. He had to beat ASU and would have been one of the 4 playoff teams most likely, he lost, they were 5-5 at the time - Reality. He has been with the program three years now, the team is very heavy with JR's and SR's that is a huge plus - Reality. 4-8 to 7-6 shows they were headed in the right direction with a young group of player that matured in skill and strength under Mario, so it could be said it was as much Jimmies and Joes and X's and O's - Perception and Reality

Logic would say that we should get this coach, if he'll have us. - Logic would say we have made four of five of our last hires that had some association to the program and the results have been disastrous. Logic would say to take the process out of the AD and BoT hands and any emotional ties to the program. If he will have us? Seriously, this is just part of the program as it is. Settling for the Coastal as our new goal, settling for a coach that will have us.

Coach Manny Manure will be fired in mid season next year. He will not survive the conference schedule because each team in the Coastal has gotten progressively better including GT! Fire CMM n Flakey James!
