For those absolving Mario and the staff...

No one's absolving the staff. The coaches are gonna have to call a perfect game for this team to win. You just saw it...

Coaches have been mid. Players have been mid. We are mid.

Let's see if we improve
Everything is obviously anecdotal but I see and have actually physically heard plenty of people placing all the blame on the roster.

I mean even if that IS true you also expect $80 mil + to get you at least mediocre chicken salad made out of chicken ****. At absolute worst we shouid be 2-2 right now.

...and basically describing the roster as too full of kids beyond or incapable of "fixing".

Are you satisfied with what Mario did via the Portal to fix this then?

I'm personally not firing anybody on the staff yet and understand Mario has and will have as much job security as any coach in CFB. That said, with the change in transfer rules and the fact that Mario & Co. had plenty of time to evaluate what was left in the cupboard for them- is it reasonable to just blame the players? Good coaches do wayyyy more with wayyyyy less every Saturday. Good coaches also immediately change "culture" issues too.
We absolutely dropped the ball with the portal and should have been more aggressive.

But I'm not sure it would have mattered for this season.

Bottom line: this was always a 3 plus season project.

Red herring.

No one absolves the staff's garbage work thus far.

Don't fumble. Don't miss field goals. Jesus Christ.

At this point I don't know who to blame. The players/ coaches/ s&c/ fans/ the city. Idk all I know is we suck for some odd reason even with some talent but teams with way less do way more. I'll never understand, maybe it's the distractions and not being in a podunk town where all they think about is ball. I've accepted we will always be a mid p5 program.
Everyone. It's obvious they all aren't doing their job.

This is off topic but why are we talking **** about a kicker that missed an angled 53 yard kick? There’s dudes making millions missing that kick on sundays.
He doesn't make the easy ones, either, dude. You're my dude, but there's no defending his ****** kicking at this point.

You would have fired Butch after his second season and a loss to Eastern Carolina.
I'm not even advocating for the firing of position coaches or coordinators right now so I definitely wouldn't have fired Butch then.

No need for hyperbole. Mario is just deserving of some criticism at this point. Gattis and Steele too. And I was slurping Steele just a couple weeks ago too.

55% blue chip players.

**** poor offensive and defensive scheme.
**** poor coaching going on
**** poor game management

We have talented kids who are not being coached up.

Too many non-coaching mistakes...so obvious a layman can see it...to even have honest discourse about coaching.

I thought it was reasonable to expect 4-1 at this point. Even after seeing the games unfold, its hard to think that this team isn't closer to 5-0...every game was winnable. However, we were wrong. This team just isn't very good. It happens. Maybe we should have known a team that was put together and evaluated by Manny Diaz would not be good...but here we are.

ill advocate for the firing of both coordinators tho its obvious steele was a break glass in case of emergency type thing

Rooster holds onto the ball and Canes win. This wasn’t on Mario.

Our players suck man.

The issue with this board is that it’s always one extreme or another

Multiple aspects can have the blame lol
its both players and coaches. players haven't stepped up and coaches haven't coached well. we haven't looked well coached once this season and we haven't played mistake free football once this year either.

who called that dumbass timeout? a fumble shouldn't end the game. we had chances early on. were at the Goal line and run a sneak and then a carry w 21 rather than thad. we then blow a fourth and goal call w a horrific pass play that got blown up from the start. fumble was huge though and thats on rooster and no one else.

Basically all of the players he's brought in are better than the guys we had - I'm not sure what more he can do in that time frame.

Our players repeatedly come up small in the biggest moments - that's just who they are at this point.
