...and basically describing the roster as too full of kids beyond or incapable of "fixing".

Are you satisfied with what Mario did via the Portal to fix this then?

I'm personally not firing anybody on the staff yet and understand Mario has and will have as much job security as any coach in CFB. That said, with the change in transfer rules and the fact that Mario & Co. had plenty of time to evaluate what was left in the cupboard for them- is it reasonable to just blame the players? Good coaches do wayyyy more with wayyyyy less every Saturday. Good coaches also immediately change "culture" issues too.

I said we missed in the portal in April. Colbie Young could be a silver lining if this wasn't just a fluke testament to UNC. QB, WR, DE are most important positions. We needed to hit on 2 of the 3.

I don’t think it’s ever reasonable to only blame the players - especially after a coaching change. Even though they obviously didn’t show up for MT, they showed up today and played hard.

Lol

Rooster fumble.

Blown coverage on the 1st TD

1st down in the 1 and fail to get a TD

FG at 53 yards
who called those four goal line plays. who blew a timeout in the third quarter that immediately bit us in the *** after they did a check w me for 30 seconds. who continues to start players that are getting exposed on the field. why change the scheme to fit the roster after 4 games and not know the issues that we all saw in the spring? the fumble is on rooster. missed field goal is on the kicker and to a greater extent our lack of a ST coach or at least a visible one (they waited four games to use smith back there and basically blew a game on that move). the loss is on all of them but ive seen coaches all over the country that took over this year and are coaching up their left over roster and preparing them well than we are.

They tried. They lost a few very important battles. Then scrambled at the end.

Mario should and will get his time to make changes. That being said a significant portion of the blame needs to be laid on the coaches.

They got some good players on the portal but also missed out on some legit targets.

You can shoot for the star portal players but also need some solid footballers that fit the culture and can challenge incumbents.

If I were grading the portal additions, I would say a B- because of not bringing enough in.

I think Mesidor & Parrish have been the best. A lot of transfers played some major snaps today for the first time (Denis, Sagapolo, Colbie, etc).

Shannon. Golden. Richt. Diaz.

Left the cupboard full bro! Should have been competing for a playoff spot year one.. right?
Nope. But not having more than 1 loss at this point was a reasonable expectation.

I just don't like the narrative that this roster was basically irredeemable.

I think we'd agree that only an idiot would make any permanent judgements on Cristobal right now but one can also say he's severely underachieving at THIS point too (again, a beyond EARLY point).

hes gonna get at minimum 6-7 years. his best friends are the biggest donors too. like dimare getting an extension for being a bum, Mario will get his ample time. I expect him to fire both coordinators this offseason and resetting

1st down in the 1 and fail to get a TD

FG at 53 yards

-Horrible play calling from the one yard line
-Continued blown coverages by our secondary after a two week prep, miscommunications
-Weak team( getting blown off the line of scrimmage every game including against MTSU)
-Not addressing glaring needs in the off season

So all on the players?

elko turned around a horrific duke roster that was one of the worst in the p5 in an offseason. we can't beat MTSU?
