For the Love of god ….. let’s slow down

It looked the way it’s supposed to look. We have not said that about entire season in a long time. So far we can say that about both games. We’ll learn a little more against Wake but I think that is going to resemble Stanford.

You can build that confidence and joy against better opponents. There are literally dozens of G5 teams that would be a good tune up. We would blow out a g5 team by 60 points too but the level of athlete on the other side of the ball is going to be far better than the FCS athlete. If going to pad the schedule, then have a state of Fl championship and schedule lesser Florida schools like USF, UCF, and FSU.

FAMU was playing on 3 days rest. I like humiliating schools like UF and FSU, but it started getting a little cringy against FAMU.

Well i was wrong, he was telling me that game was wrong. I mentioned the gaytors and usce ducking us and he hasnt replied yet. Miami has scored over 60 points twice before in Mario’s tenure. His first game was a 70-13 win over BCC and Miami beat Ball State 62-0 in 2024, Cam’s year.

I agree that you might be able to get experience against a better team but you play who is on the schedule. And maybe we do blow out a G5 team with better athletes but I doubt the 3's and 4's would have gotten as much burn against better comp. I'm all for playing tougher teams but I'm happy our kids got the burn they did against the team on the schedule.
 
Plenty of fans are pointing out things that need to improve after two games. It's still doesn't take away from the fact that this offense is uber talented, the defense has played solid football with room to improve, and it appears like this freshman class has some real contributors & possibly multiple impact players. The biggest takeaway from yesterday was that they executed & played to a high standard. When the backups entered the game, they didn't let up and continued to uphold that standard of play.
 
As a fan what is the point in making a post telling other fans to pump the brakes? Who cares if the goofy part of our fan base wants to get all gassed up? Its not your job to pop their balloons.

The only reason to make this post is to pull receipts if it goes south and honestly if thats what you feel like doing after the game last night? Well... you suck and probably at more than just being a fan of the Miami Hurricanes.
 
It was an enjoyable game for cane fans...
...we didn't see the traditional "let the backup QB handoff the ball to the RB 100 times " routine we normally see in blowout games
 
I don’t think anyone is overblowing the win. I think we see it for what it was. It was a great opportunity to get a ton of young guys valuable reps and boost the overall morale/confidence of the entire team. Everyone got to eat and everyone got to play. You don’t get many games like that.

- I give our team all the credit for doing what they needed to do last night

But seeing people on the board comparing current UM players to Gore, Andre and Sean Taylor - good lord

Check out the South Carolina Stats vs FAMU
- almost 500 yards and 8 yards per play
- and this happened in spite of State having 3 turnovers and 13 penalties
- and we played FAMU days after their State game …days

I am excited to see what we become however there are FCS teams and there are really bad FCS teams … we played a really bad one last night

this is what I'm talking about. enjoy the journey. we did just wait 8 months to have football back and it appears its gonna be another fun season no matter the final result. To be honest, its way more difficult now to win a natty than it ever was because you actually have to beat good teams consecutively to be the champ. Its not voted on anymore than you have to win one game. Its a real champion now.
 
just 4yrs ago Miami would have beat FAM U 38-13, while the Rattlers would have actually moved the ball and forced some punts. This was different. The difference is actually being noticed nationally, I hear it on the radio. Doesn't mean Miami is unbeatable but this is certainly a top program again, as good as anyone.
