For sure gone, likely gone, up in the air

Did you read that on Warchant?
I’m not sure about “not high” but connecting the dots…

DMoney alluded in our last bank that this isn’t Madden and there’s a finite amount of money for portal guys. Now I get it, that’s common sense to an extent….but That in itself is proof we’re not spending above and beyond to fix this roster asap. Now, JayCane did say some big contracts come off the books and we can allocate that money towards HS recruits/portal guys - but again, that’s just recycling previously allocated money without adding more funds.

In-state programs like FSU and UF are increasing their spending, and it doesn’t seem like we are. Maybe some donors want results before increasing their financial backing. It makes sense, it’s poor investment to repeatedly do this and end up with less than 8 wins. There’s already little to no return on spending NIL on players. Maybe Ruiz hurts more than we know, because to him, it was personal to win recruiting battles. As boisterous and brash as he was, he is an asset for the program and anyone who thinks otherwise is asinine.

I just hope that when push comes to shove, they give Mario all the money he needs to improve this roster. The understanding was he’d have that upon leaving Oregon. Can’t back out now after two less-than-ideal seasons, if you truly believe Mario is the right man for this job and will succeed through talent acquisition.

We will lose some starters and serious contributors as transfers, just be prepared
No one would surprise me, not even Restrepo (especially if his QB leaves and another OC comes in). I’d be upset sure, but I’d see the rationale.

We just need to limit the damage and be ready to write blank checks to portal guys, but that’s just my opinion. A BC win doesn’t mask a disappointing season, and we’ll see just how bad with portal entries (despite “culture change”).

Hopefully the damage is minimal and we can focus on building the roster, not salvaging the current one.

University of Miami's funds are not high. The writing has been on the wall.
So why don't you put your money where your mouth is you ******* mope.

Lol! I completely forgot about Mesidor. I guess that's a good thing? I hope he comes back. Bain/Mesidor at the 5-techniques is always welcomed.

Was looking at the roster and wow there is a chance for again significant turnover. I wish this class coming in was strong at all levels because there’s a lot of depth that likely is either asked to go or tries to find more PT elsewhere

  • LB Francisco Mauigoa
You lost me when you brought up our 5 Star OL who just had an amazing year on one of the best OL in the country.

Go back to bed

So 23 for sure/likely and another 11 probably for a grand total of 34.

There are only a couple of programs in the nation with unlimited money. Everyone else has to make some choices. It is what it is.
