Folden on Joe Rose

some of you guys have single cell brains.

what is he going to say? yes, we made the mistake of not making adjustments and because were (or are) close to getting fired, we made some significant adjustments by playing closer to the LOS, being more aggressive etc.

absolutely not.
No. No he won't. You're god**** right he won't. Because he's the most arrogant, prideful coach (for no reason) I've ever seen in cfb. He's not gonna admit change because he's got some petty issue about having to look like he's the smartest man in the room, all the while everyone's laughing at him and the ****** schemes he puts out on the field. He only changed because his ******* career is on the line. But you're right. He won't admit he was wrong because that's what good coaches do. Show some god**** humility.

Or maybe the players are just executing an extremely complicated defensive scheme better. No need to hate on the man for giving the players some credit finally.

We're in his fourth year. If you're telling me that it took mid season to turn things around, then we're gonna lose early season games every year. You understand what you're saying right?

Joe: Coach, the Defense is playing so much better. Did you make changes or are you running the same stuff?

Folden: We're executing better.

WTF

Folden can't even admit that Changes were made to the Defense, not necessarily scheme, but how you allow players to execute the scheme. It is F*cking easier to Execute when your DBs and LBs are not so far back that they are spotted in Boca Raton. The players had it (Aggression) in them from day one. Better late than never.....I guess.

I am not gonna knock Folden today. But Gee Wiz, I just wish he would stop calling Canes Fans and Former Players Stupid.

We will see if the new found aggression continues against FSU.

NO EXCUSES.

Really, when did he do that?

When he said we were executing better (Doh).

We are executing better. Same scheme, better execution, better job of players playing their roles and sticking to their assignments. That allows the overall defense to play more aggressively.
B.S. You really believe that after 3 and a half seasons, the light bulb just magically turned on for the players at exactly the same time when Golden's seat was starting to get warm? These guys who were highly touted recruits in high school, somehow forgot or never knew how to tackle or cover a WR, but now they are suddenly tackling better and blanketing receivers and it has absolutely nothing to do with a scheme change? I'm not buying that for a second. Golden clearly will not admit it publicly but this is a different defense then the one we have seen for the last 3 seasons.

You will not get an honest answer from any Golden Girl. His **** is so deep down their collective throats it's cutting off oxygen to their pea-sized, estrogen filled brains.

If he says "I made some adjustments with the front 7", then:
-He's sitting that the posters were placed in bad situations stuff did not allow them to be successful
-I realize it and have adjusted

He looks humble, and now the players are absolutely absolved of their previous ****** play. Most haters will acknowledge this as a sign of personal progress and have hope for the future.

By saying, the players finally understand my system, you start to wonder, what happens next year with graduation.

Even if he didn't do anything different, that is the right thing to say.

Blame yourself, praise others. Rule of being a great leader.

Is it easier for people to believe 22 players suddenly had a light go off, or 1 head coach did?

We're going to have to wait until midseason before next years team "gets it". Thems the breaks when you gots a corch with Alice's corching acumen.

When you recruit highly skilled athletes, it takes 3 and a half years for the light to magically turn on.

Sincerely,

Folden

If you expect to use the players as your excuse for every loss, that is most certainly true.

Exactly. It's built-in excuse making. We lose DP, Chick and some others and I bet you the "hard to replace guys like that" excuse making will be full throttle next year.

"Well Joe, again, if I admit that we just now changed the scheme due to the banner flying, demanding I be fired, that would be akin to admitting that some of the fans on CIS and all of the fans on WEZ who started criticized me since the Maryland game were correct - and I was wrong. That's not going to happen, Joe."

"So Coach, you're saying the scheme hasn't changed at all, but suddenly the players are just now executing?"

"That's right, Joe. Our players haven't been executing for over three years, and we've been putting in the work, and now it's starting to show."

"But Coach, previously, we'd put three on the line, only to stand up and play pattycake, regardless of whether it was first and ten, or third and one. Then our corners were ten yards off the receivers, and at the snap ran to a spot, our linebackers were ten yards off the line and were getting blocked by linemen. Then, out blitzers would run out on third down, telegraphing our intentions."

"Joe, we've been teaching our core values, and it's a process. Our standards and columns, pillars, and vertical supports, and ideals, and enthusiams, with an emphasis on clouds and reduced visibility vision enhancements are finally beginning to gel. Again, our values haven't changed, our coaching hasn't changed. The players are now starting to realize their responsibilities, and are executing."

^^^^^^^POST OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!^^^^^^^

Porsters gone porst. Trolls gone troll.

Troll why because he telling the truth? The announcers called that out saying they're playing more a South Florida type attacking D?

By the way, you really think he's giving the players credit? No, he's doubling down on his accusation that it was THEM that lost the 3 early games. You're so blind in your love of Alice that you can't see she's continuing to bash the players.

Oh baloney....the best we can all agree is there have been subtle changes to the defense. I will tell you this. Go watch Perryman against Nebraska and then against Virginia Tech and he is attacking and shedding in the latter game. They haven't changed his assignments.

To say players are executing is sole reason for the newfound defensive success suggests that it was the players fault all along. 4 years of getting ragged dolled on defense because players "freelanced" GTFO! That's why his arrogant, prideful, lard *** needs to go!

The correct answer...IM TRUSTING MY PLAYERS! They deserve as much!!!

But they changed the depth in which he plays.

Much easier to shed a block and make a tackle of your 3 yards away from it as compared to being 14 yards away from it.

The PLAYER didn't CHANGE. He's the same player vs VaTech as he was vs Duke as he was vs UNC as he was vs Louisville. Or are you saying that it takes a player like DP three and one half ******* YEARS TO "GET IT"??? If so, THAT right there is a problem. Alice has been coaching him for three and a half YEARS!!!!! And he's JUST NOW GETTING IT??? Really? You live in bizarro world where that makes any sense whatsoever? Thanks for using him as your example because if DP isn't getting it until mid season than we will NEVER win a Coastal championship and will lose 2-3 early season games, every single year. You understand that's what you're saying, right?

There were changes in the overall alignment of that defense. Comparing Denzel's production in both games is comparing apples to oranges.

Not only did they change stuff, they simplified it a lot. That **** looks a lot like what we are used to seeing. Look at the play where Crawford lit that kid up, games gone that kid would have been able to catch the ball turn upfield and break a tackle. I don't care what he or the slurpers admit, I'm just glad I'm not here asking wtf are our players so far off the ball, look so slow and are so passive.....every week.

One thing I noticed with Nebraska was that they were sending their uncovered Center directly after Perryman wherever he was....not letting him get his flow going.

OK, let me get this straight. After getting trounced by several mediocre teams, AG mentions lack of execution as one of the reasons. Fans bash him for throwing the players under the bus.

Fast forward. The defense is executing whatever defense it is they're calling, which certainly looks different to the casual fan. Instead of taking credit for changing the scheme, AG says the players are just executing better, which would be the opposite of throwing the players under the bus (instead, giving the players all the credit). Fans bash AG for not admitting that he changed anything.

Do I have that right?

Completely wrong. The part you missed is that by saying now the players are executing better, means that it was the players who failed before, and not the coaches even though it's obvious the coaches changed things.

This is a perfect example of the coaches deflecting blame. At no point in time are they willing to take the blame and admit they needed to adjust what they were doing. Instead the players magically flipped a switch all at the same time and the whole team just figured it out.

Who gives a sh*t? We're winning. Whether its players doing better, coaches making adjustments, I mean why are people whining about this kind of stuff that he doesn't give credit, that he blames, I mean seriously listen to what you're whining about. This is football, not play school.

You're a complete idiot. My post is answering the question that the quoted poster asked when he said "Do I have it right?" Please go back to school and understand context.

With that said, people give a ****, because he's showing what kind of person he truly his. He's the type of coach who throws his players under the bus to save him and his buddy. Seriously, if Al came out and just said, "I found some weaknesses in what we were doing and I've made adjustments I feel will fix those weaknesses," half of the people against him, might consider holding back a little. It's the simple fact that until recently he had refused to make changes and when he finally does, he will only say it was the player's fault.
