Hope you right JG13.

My big takeaway from this is the lack of explosiveness in the Gator offense. We need to contain Wilson and tackle.
I watched a couple of UF games due to liking SEC football last year. I think their fans have a big point on Napier running their offense. I would highly watch out for their scripted plays. The scripted plays they look like a good offense at least vs Tennesse and vs Georgia last year. If We are able to weather the storm midway through the 2nd quarter We should be good.

Also bc of their quick passes TELL THE D LINE TO BAT DOWN PASSES. They were awful at doing that last year. Batting down passes would be huge in this game.

Watch the Tennessee game from last year….That was UF’s opener and they were worried about UT’s DL….i expect the same game plan against us. They plan to counter our DL speed by running it down our throats lots of motion and misdirection.
We shut down their run the way UT could not and we roll big time

They used a lot of trips bunch , constant receiver motion with runs off that action or play action pass. Everything was short and all the smoke in mirrors pretty much made the Vols pass rush non existent. The DE’s had to keep contain on Pearsall selling the end around . Which allowed UF to pick their moments with the deeper stuff.

Stoping the run gets you the reward of rushing the passer. Hopefully the DL does that because UF can’t drop back and put the game on Mertz and that OL. To use a basketball reference Mertz is an Andre Miller type point guard , hes a pass first point guard but he can’t have the entire offense put on his back. That means if they get the run going mixed with short passing game ,and play action he gets real comfortable . Odds are he won’t won’t make the big mistake. He can handle third and fives , third and longs not so much.
