2026 Flip Watch 3.0 No Class is Safe from Mario (2026 Version)

If you stay in the Top 10 or top 7 more often, with proper portal additions, you are fine. As long as you are hitting in the critical hard to get positions. Without the portal it was top 5 for me. Either way, stacking DL, OL, CB, critical. Then elite players from other positions when u get them. Im happy with the moves on the DL

Bro a lot of fans don’t get these kids making decisions on schools aren’t as emotional as we fans think. If Cristobal wins out (I don’t know if he will and I wouldn’t bet on it) but say hypothetically he does….. he moves on still selling Two 10 win seasons back to back “you’re the missing piece”. On top of NIL!!

Yea but its the relationship, how real is this staff. How truthful are they? Have they let me down? Do they make me a priority? Are they cool? Will my parents be good leaving these people in charge? How long have I known this staff and HC? There are a lot of things that go into it and relationship is up there with NIL

I don’t know if we’ll be able to keep all these guys or not, and it really doesn’t matter anyway but there’s a vast difference in perception and reality between Y1 and Y4 of a regime. After the MTSU loss, he still had plenty to sell, but after underwhelming and embarrassing us for the 4th straight year…

Then you’re letting your moping in the way of reality. If he wasn’t cooked then, he ain’t cooked now with a month to go til Dec. That was probably the lowest this program has been since being crushed by Clemson and maybe even lower.

What happened last year then? Why’d we have our worst close since he’s been here? You are lying to yourself if you think it isn’t easier to sell a 5-7 disaster of a season in Y1 than it is not even finishing top 3 in the ACC, with this roster and expectations, in Y4. You are letting your blind homerism get in the way of common sense and what we have actually seen.

Agree,the only way to salvage this class and close strong is for our collective to over pay for recruits and likely by good margins.

Mario is still gonna have his share of flips and blue chips. I think what is gone is his ability to field top 5 classes. The reality is that we are a 8-12 type of recruiting team and that’s with a pretty strong collective. In today’s game, you’re not out-talenting other teams anyMore.

I don’t disagree with any of that. My entire point in this thread was recruiting in Y1 of a regime vs recruiting in Y4 of a regime. It’s vastly different and much easier in Y1 vs Y4, that’s all.
