Fleming still strong with Miami, focused on winning states

In that context you’re correct. But in Fleming’s context state’s is indicative of multiple games to win the title, not multiple states. State’s not being a singular event. It’s all about context. Writer could’ve helped out by using State’s in stead of states. But it’s trivial to say the least.
Also here’s an example of similar terminology. An athlete stating they’re aiming for World’s in their bid for the World championship. There’s only one world to which we compete.
We call that going to the Playoffs here in Texas. The goal is to get to the Championship game and win the state championship.

And your point? Family is from the Grove. Kid is lives in South Miami. Transferred from Miami High to the Ridge because of Sed. These kids want to win “states”. Which is why he is at the West.

Point these kids want to win 'states' - what value does a championship hold when high school kids are jumping from school to school, given
grades, SAT scores and now even $$$, they learn nothing, worse part is the adults [coaches/administrators] who kowtow to them all.

Who doesn’t want to win? Who doesn’t want to be in the best situation? Every kid isn’t Don Chaney, Jr.

My favorite recruit in the class. Can’t have enough speed and playmakers. Hope he sticks.

PBC was an 11 win team that made the playoffs last year & they produce D1 players every year on both sides of the ball.

We just smacked'em around 36-6 #BullPride 🙌🏾🤘🏽🐂
Wow. Had no idea that was PBC. Northwestern made them look like they shouldn’t have been on the same field.

Palm Beach Central isn’t the same team this year. Their HC from last year took a HC job in Georgia, a bunch of their better players transferred to other schools.
