Flake hiding in the tunnel during bball game

Miami basketball is the last of our worries. Coach L was hired before Blake (so Blake gets zero credit for this) and has turned us into a top program. We've got an amazing class coming in and will be a tourney team again next year. The Adidas bull**** made up miss one full class.

Did you just refer to the basketball team as a “top program”?

First, who wears an Iron Arrow jacket to a basketball game in January?

Second, did anyone start the "Fire Blake James" chant?

Basketball is a worry. This is as bad as its been since Haith.

So, it's "as bad as" it was under Frank Haith?

Haith was coach for 7 seasons. Our BEST Haith season, we went 8-8 in the ACC and finished 5th in the ACC. That was also the year of our ONE NCAA appearance.

Laranaga is completed 8 seasons, and in six of those eight seasons, we finished ABOVE .500 in the ACC, with one 1st place finish, two 3rd place finishes, two 6th place finishes, and 1 7th place finish. We have FOUR NCAA appearances, with 2 Sweet 16 teams.

We know about the scholarship issues and last year was bad, but to say that it is "as bad as Haith" is just ignorant.

Why do you get to dismiss the most recent and current years? Finishing 11th is absolutely as bad as it was under Haith. And we haven’t won an NCAAT game in four years. It’s a middling, mediocre program.

In basketball, we were in the NCAA tournament TWO years ago (third of three consecutive years).

In baseball, we made the postseason LAST YEAR.

Not lackluster. Inconsistent, and struggling with scholarship issues, but not "lackluster and non-competitive".

We don’t win championships. We lost by 30 st home last night. We had a 40+ year post season streak snapped in baseball and we haven’t finished higher than 7th. We have zero conference titles. What’s the standard? Just making it?

The one thing I will say about basketball that goes back to BJ is how we handled the NCAA and the Adidas probe versus every other school. You look at Dewan losing the entire year and how we bent over for the NCAA whereas every other school told the NCAA to get bent, and how the rest of them have gone right back to recruiting and winning while we still haven’t recovered. The tone is set at the top of any organization and ours is a weak loser.

Photo is kind of misleading b/c for whatever reason the top sections are always tarped off. Probably something to do with the City of Coral Gables code bull****

I'm not "dismissing", I'm acknowledging that we got screwed by the "FBI investigation" and we couldn't sign anyone. We've now got two great signing classes in a row, and the ACC season has just begun for this year.

Your dopey assessment of basketball is just ridiculous.

When you've been hiding in the closet your entire life chilling in a tunnel for a couple of hours ain't no thing.

Look at that crowd, pathetic

But somebody tried to tell me larranaga has made UM basketball relevant, lol! The castration playbook process was in full affect when the decision was made to hire this guy from george mason, at his age, of course he's greatful to be here, and again, just like flake learned from his troll teacher who dont want any Alpha's as head coach of the football team, so butch davis, mike leach and dan hawkins were never considered, so it is with the basketball program, when them ****'s didnt even look at or dare bring in, like cristobal, the homegrown frank martin, who would've had this program on fire long before now! When the a.d. is a coward, he'll keep having a track record of hiring mediocrity, he wont be able to hide now though!

You can use whatever excuses you want, but we’re four years removed from even a single NCAAT win. We have a middle of the road program. No reason to hide from that.

Right now, this season (and last season), is Haith level bad. The talent is Haith level bad. The depth is Haith level bad. The results are Haith level bad. I'm not dismissing what L has done since he's been here. But right now, it's bad.

Are you shocked? Despite having a solid coach, a guy that gets the most out the talent available, and has done historic things at the school, this fanbase doesn't give a **** about the program unless it's really, really good. Even then, people only care when big name opponents show up. Blake usually hangs out over in the tunnel from my experience of going to the Watsco Center, so let's not chalk this up as anything special. If he isn't in the tunnel, he's hanging out at the scorer's table, maybe walking around over the H-100 room entrance.
He’s a great coach no doubt, best we’ve had in the program. But over the last couple of years he’s wasted time not even fielding a workable team.... like self imposed sanctions. we now field teams with 6-7 actual players. Wasting Lyikes and others time her3 without one workable front court player. He’s not immune to criticism
