Fiscal Reality

Not happening lol , yall really think we are gonna start another rebuild after losing today ? We can lose every game after this & Mario will be the coach opening night 2026
Not at all because he is a good football coach, but because we are not serious.

I think this situation can go left quickly similarly to what happened here at LSU. No one here in Baton Rouge was talking about firing Brian Kelly before the Texas A&M game. Let Mario drop two more games and things will change. Not saying he gets fired but I don't think Mario will be allowed to spend like he has in the portal and maybe there will be a new OC or Mario is made to give Dawson more autonomy.

Mario could go 0-12 next year and he wouldn't be fired.

The AD would simply recommend hiring new coordinators or something.

The boosters are paying for everything bc they like Mario.

Our impact guys this year like Toney will transfer out and we won't get talented replacements.

Dawson and Heatherman leave after this season.

Mario will simply leave at a certain point in 2 or 3 years bc it will get to an extremely uncomfortable spot.
Yep. At this point I’m starting to think we love seeing rebuilds every 4-5 years it’s becoming tradition. We will pound the table for a G5 coaching wizard just to lose big money booster support, bring in 20th ranked classes & regress back to mediocre 7-5 szns ..rinse, repeat …

I can tell you — a LOT of people were talking about firing Brian Kelly before the A&M game. Before the season, too. In the very building.

Brian Kelly was an outsider and he never fit there.

The closer comp to Mario will be James Franklin who’s a PA guy, and he got like 12 years. So, strap in and pray.

The guy isn’t a good coach for sure but they didn’t bring him here n make this type of commitment to football just to fire the dude after 4 years..like we gotta use our brains here.. this was always going to be a long haul hire

Bingo.

He sucks. We lose one more game this year and people need to tell him to adapt.

I'm an LSU alum and I live in Baton Rouge. I also have familial ties to LSU's football program. That wasn't happening.

No, Franklin isn't a comp to Mario. Ron Zook is a comp to Mario. Franklin beat the teams he was supposed to beat until this season. Period. Franklin's career winning percentage is approximately .681, ranking him fourth among active coaches with a minimum of 10 years of experience

Dude this storyline is on repeat and has been for the last 20 years. The team’s going to collapse down the stretch, and he’ll have a disastrous 2026 season and get fired.

Doubt it but we’ll see, football was kind of an afterthought before he got here, they’ve invested in him more then anyone it’s just his coaching accumen is ******* things up so far.

Here’s a fiscal reality for you:

NIL money should be paid to players on a game by game basis. The players who don’t commit penalties are the ones who should get paid. You keep committing dumb penalties? Your pay gets docked.

Oh and if you’re a QB, your pay gets docked for turnovers.

What the **** are YOU talking about? Have you been paying attention ? Have you not seen the money poured into this program since he got here ? Are you saying we prioritized the football program b4 he got here ? Hellloooo wake up

and yet Miami regularly fired coaches on extended contracts after they crashed and burned in the same exact manner Cristobal is now. He’ll get fired next year; this is the exact same story that’s been playing out for 20 years.

You mean prepare to keep taking the strap-on.

You know we like it, we are Miami fans!

🤣

We can win with Mario. He makes changes quick. Just in off-season. Maybe he shuts up for one season.

I was thinking something more immediate like a fire pit.

Commit a penalty and it opens beneath you on the field.

Great for ratings too.
