Fiscal Reality

No offense friend...

Having best viewership numbers in ACC is like being the tastiest fat guy at a head hunter's banquet (I refrained from several other more harsh analogies).

To be sure, Miami's numbers have been tops in ACC, but when you lay it all out #1-n for college football, I think Miami's best games struggle to break into the top 5 or 10.

Someone talk me off the ledge with that whomever is in the media biz....
Best I could find in a quick search
-Heading into this week, we have 3 of the top 20 viewership games this season (including #3 overall) https://sports.yahoo.com/article/college-football-tv-ratings-tracking-160942798.html
-Not sure how reliable but a Reddit post from last week says we are #8 overall https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/1oe684p/most_watched_teams_thru_week_8_2025_1_bama_2_uga/

We are certainly no Bama, UGA, OSU, but if a conference is looking to expand, we are outperforming the other contenders in the ACC/B12 to date this year

Excellent work amigo...so kinda 1/2 wrong 1/2 right...

Canes have some singular bright spots, but in totality sit outside Top 5.

Would you say good enough for SEC/B1G?

I defer to ya'll in that media game...I'm not...

Blaming Beck for today’s loss is just comical. I will give you Louisville. But today was all on Wario and Farmer Fran(Dawson)

The offense is impotent largely because Beck can’t throw and teams are stacking the box. Even when does throw he is frequently off target and the WRs bail him out. Dawson doesnt trust Beck for good reason. The entire offense and Staph is to blame for today but a lot of people are excusing Beck.

Big Manny's buyout, I believe, is north of $50MM presently.

Miami doesn't have that money, and even if they did, it would be immoral.

This season's corch hiring bonanza is going to be...interesting.

We are likely to see the era of performance incentive contracts with much less guarantees and far more flexibility to Institutions...ditto for NIL. Miami would probably struggle to compete on the high-end this cycle.

Miami's likely stuck in a USC-esque maliase for several years and in the JUCO quality ACC with below market payments. JFC.

Make no mistake, this season's disaster is likely, not certainly, to have negative knock-on effects for years...to include hampering joining SEC/B1G.
This is a strawman bull**** thing because the powers that we aren’t about to fire him anyway no matter what people you think they want

In realignment decisions are not going to be made on one season of football

Va Tech - Pitt- and NC state can beat us. How bad we regressed from the UF game 🤦🏻‍♂️ why does this happen to us?

I actually do not think we regressed. I think those teams didn't play well against us. Other problem being, we put our gameplan on tape and other teams knew how to prepare. We didn't change. We knew Beck's arm wasn't there in the ND game where we overlooked that crazy catch by Daniels was overthrown and into double coverage. Defense actually got better since. We just have not adjusted since teams adjusted to us.

It’s obvious that this isn’t the same team we saw the first 5 games. I don’t know what it is, but there is plenty of blame to go around. The Jojo int was a turning point to me and it seemed that it was a struggle after that.

Hopefully it’ll force Miami to hire an actual coach. Someone with no ties to the school or state who doesn’t fit in with this “culture.” Miami’s only hope of being good again is hiring the football version of Coach L.
We've done so well the last 25 years hiring coaches I'm sure we'll nail the ew hire you want.

Mario is not the coach he was expected to be. NC State and PITT will beat UM. 8-4 is a losing season. Give Emory a shot at QB next week and sit Beck who has 14 TD's and 9 INT's. These are TVD numbers.
That will do wonders for the portal prospects.

Sometimes I wonder if there should be a minimum IQ in here but that would be bad business for DMoney to lose 75% of the posters.

If this team limps to 9 wins and next year is a similar story, you’ll start seeing purse strings shorten.

What’s in the syringes? A serum that makes all the players smarter so they don’t constantly commit game-killing penalties? I hope so.

Unless Mario fails to win 10 games I can see him still getting a pass on the season… the money bags love Mario and we’ll just chop it up as they picked the wrong portal QB beck was who jawja warned people about

Be interesting if he fails to win 10… this team is playoff bound caliber and to fail to hit double digits in the A-*******-CC?! Yeah some important folks who shell out the difference making dollars surely start bringing it up closer to Mario’s inner circle

That's what happens when teams adapt to their talent, their situation, and coach to win.\

Mario wants it to looks a certain way and forces his teams and offenses to look that way and play that way. He also plays not to lose which is actually playing to lose.
Makes a lot of sense considering we led the nation in offense and points last year

Mario could go 0-12 next year and he wouldn't be fired.

The AD would simply recommend hiring new coordinators or something.

The boosters are paying for everything bc they like Mario.

Our impact guys this year like Toney will transfer out and we won't get talented replacements.

Dawson and Heatherman leave after this season.

Mario will simply leave at a certain point in 2 or 3 years bc it will get to an extremely uncomfortable spot.

Not happening lol , yall really think we are gonna start another rebuild after losing today ? We can lose every game after this & Mario will be the coach opening night 2026
