Dawson ran a go-route/streak on a side with a lone WR without designing anything underneath when the defense was playing cover two. Should Beck have thrown the ball? Of course not but the play call was absolutely horrendous.

You’re obviously emotional and i get it i am too but we literally got here off the back of our oline and run game. He trusted that oline and run game to lead us and we got stuffed, if the best part of our offense isn’t working you will have a bad half.

Plus they dropped 8 alot on passing downs so its like yea we got outplayed but the play calling wasn’t bad. We had multiple short yard runs that we usually convert every time and this game it got stuffed

He made adjustments in the 2nd half and we drove up and down on an elite defense. Had a chance to win with 1:42 just like ole miss and we just didn’t finish this time. If 87 blocks his guy on the punt we probably win but hey Thats football not everything is a coaching failure.

After the hurt goes away rewatch the game and look at how frustrated beck was in the first half. Is THAT the guy you wanna let loose in the first half or are you gonna regroup in the second?

Could be. Or we just made an adjustment. O’Conner played the whole second half too when we were pressing. At the end of the day, the thing they are best at on offense, the back shoulder, won them the game. They’re better at it than anyone else and it’s their bread and butter. They went to it when they needed it the most, and outplayed 24 on it.

It’s crazy, the 2 things that had me more concerned than anything is what decided the game. Our secondary, especially with 6 out for the half, and just overall cleanliness. They beat our DBs, and they played cleaner. Less penalties, no turnovers, and by FAR the biggest play of the whole game, a blocked punt for a TD on ******* punt safe.

dont look anywhere but our specials. a routine punt block. and throw in a missed FG.

Agree this been Dawson in all 3 of our L . He takes to long to adjust . He is the weak link . He keeps a te on who can block and misses catches over half the time .

Offensively im not too worried, its more so about not having bain and mesidor next year. That was our superpower that no one could stop
 
Again Dawson has infuriating moments, but ultimately I think this entire passing offense with Beck and the two outside WRs pretty muched lacked any ability to generate explosive plays throught the air all season. Last year with Cam we led the country in that metric.

We KNOW with Dawson if we get the QB right, combined with Mario+Mirabal at Oline, and the fact that this is the university of ******* Miami and RB+WR should always be relatively strong here, well you likely have a **** good offense most years.

I don't think we can expect to have the same quality of defense because EDGE and Nickel is guaranteed to downgrade. But if we can unlock some more exploisve plays with Mensah, this team can be as good or better still.

Beck was good 90% of the year. He had a game he fell apart completely in Louisville. A game he fell apart late in SMU. And a game he made one terrible throw here. Most of this playoff run he did just what we needed. Hopefully Mensah can provide more.


But at the end of the day it's as simple as this, I do not want Mario taking a month to choose another OC when we already have evidence of an offense that finished #1 in the country with an Elite Qb, and another offense that got us to the national Championship game.

Just keep building the ******* trenches on both sides of the ball.

I want to believe he at least saw it and got aggressive thinking he could fit it in that slight window but he was kinda late and it was underthrown

Had bauman open in the middle for probably a td if he gets his eyes back after moving the safety

Those two are all-time Miami greats. But, I’m very encouraged by the guys who return. Those guys got valuable experience this season. I don’t think the defense drops much next season.

Bauman was option 1. Mali was option 2. He was supposed to work outside in. Use his eyes to move the safety

Dawson has his flaws but I’m guessing nobody is going to be calling for his head next season when the offense takes off again, and it absolutely will.
