I was only being a smart ***... but.... The last 2 hires tell me no one gives a **** about baseball anymore... DiMare and JD were lazy *** hires that football used to do..

Even worse when you consider how awful the ACC was this year. FSU just eliminated by St John's. Georgia Tech **** the bed.

Thankfully Troy did God’s work and bounced UiF as well.

All major Florida schools have been bounced. A lot more parity in college baseball today.

Absolutely true.

Now, there are some who want to "keep JD" and "blame NIL". That's crazy, but just for a moment, I will entertain that line of argument.

EVEN IF Miami is somehow "outspent" by some of the ACC teams (and a lot of the SEC teams), you would at least then argue "OK, if we can't afford the very top guys, surely we can outbid the likes of Troy and Milwaukee and Cal Poly and Little Rock. So if we cannot fill our roster with 5-stars, what is wrong with our scouting and recruiting and development that we can't find "less talented" players from "lesser" schools who seem perfectly capable of doing a few things that Miami cannot seem to do:

---Pitch without giving up HRs
---Catch without committing errors
---Beat the **** out of teams like Miami and Florida and F$U

Now, I would NEVER say this about football, because the talent disparity is SO GREAT that you never see schools like Troy and Milwaukee and Cal Poly and Little Rock beating the likes of Miami and Florida and F$U. Well, OK, you never see them beating Miami and Florida.

But you know what I mean, you aren't going to see a team like Troy that is capable of dominating a good post-season-bount P4 school IN FOOTBALL. But baseball is different. And while there are some Cinderella upsets in college hoops, you don't usually see a basketball team like Troy that can beat Miami and Florida (twice) in one short span of time.

It's the coaching. It is. The APPALLING number of errors is not based on "but we didn't spend enough NIL". Somehow, some way, teams that spent a LOT less NIL money than we did seem capable of catching the ball and throwing the ball to a base.

And, NO, we are NOT "getting better". Did we win a couple more games this year? Sure. Against very poor competition. We did not have to play GaTech or UNC this year. We got lucky to avoid a third loss in Hogtown. We actually created a fake rain delay so that our SOS did not decline even further with a useless FIU mid-week game. We are sub-.500 in the ACC in JD's three years.

Could we spend a little bit more money in NIL? Sure. But does anyone think that would change the way that JD coaches and develops players?

Come on, now. I like JD a lot and I respect his diploma. But he ain't it. He's not turning this around "once he finally is able to buy a roster".

How did all that NIL work out for the Gators, with THEIR toxic coach?

"Not enough NIL" is an excuse. Period.

NIL, or the lack thereof, didn't create all those errors.

I've named a bunch of "lesser schools" with lesser NIL who seem to find talented and scrappy players.

I'd love to outspend every school in every sport every year. But to act like a slightly-lesser NIL is the root of our problems is bull****.

I know for a fact that in some prior years we TRIED to spend all of our NIL and were turned down by multiple targeted recruits.

Gino's dad died and he inherited the management of the family company. That's why he left.

JD doesn't want any starters who throw in the high 90s and beyond. Similarly, those pitchers don't want JD.

That right there says it all, doesn't it? I suspect the recruits and their families know which programs will develop them properly and which won't.
