Fire Diaz and revamp the coaching staff on the defensive side of the ball

I'll take Manny Diaz all day, every day. I refuse to pile on him simply because we had a bad game.

He's the perfect D Coordinator for UM.

If Baxa makes that field goal then Diaz's defense gets to take the field with the lead. Things could have gone very differently.

Feagles shanked three consecutive punts to start the game putting UM's defense behind the eight ball each time. That combined with the missed field goal really took its toll.

Im still a Diaz fan. Kendrick Norton leaving prematurely left a big hole in the middle of the D. Losing a **** good corner in Malik Young due to a career ending injury really hurt the depth chart.

I refuse to over-react due to a loss like this.

Another thing...

Our CB coaching is over-*******-rated.

Whether it's the position coach himself or the DC's preference...our CB's continue to give up inside leverage.
Michael Jackson got completely smoked on a quick slant because he opened up his hips to the outside right away and gave up the inside.
Our CB's NEVER take away the inside.
I said this over the summer. Jackson is great on fly routes, but struggles with anything in front of him. Looks schematic to me.

You're out your **** mind, buddy.

Diaz is a bad DC. Signs were there last year and he got exposed again by a garbage offense.

The guy is a massive liability
Diaz isn't getting fired after one game. CMR has seen him and his stats for the past 3 years plus this spring/summer. He sees nothing wrong just as he sees nothing wrong with his play calling.

When FIU and UNC start to pick us apart, you Diaz pumpers will see the light.

I get it... we gave the defense short fields, but that doesn't explain the fact that we are fundamentally un sound. We have had these concerns before Manny ever got here. He has been giving up big plays since his 1st stint in Starkville.

And forget about him as a DC for second. Hes a terrible LB coach.

He needs to pack his **** and go.

Every single coach on defense needs to go.

The ex bar tender now Safety’s coach continuing to put the worst safety at FS when that guy should be your dog bc your defense should be strong up the middle. See Jamal Carter. Keeps trotting out his pet project Knowles. Keep Jaquan in the middle of the got **** field already.

The cb coach seems to not teach a guy to cover a slant. We line up in press & open up like it’s cover 3. No inch back step, no motor press, lack of physicality at the LOS...we don’t even weave in off coverage.

DL coach: who in the **** put in a back up Illinois DL in on 4th & inches. He didn’t even start at Illinois. Just not enough experience as a coach on this level.

LB coach/DC: idiotic alignment, idiotic schemes, LB’s appear to be under coached...mind boggling substitutions. It seems in year 3 wherever he’s been..gets exposed.

Striker Coach: another pet coaching hire..see the safety’s coach.

Best post of the day!!!!

Held them under 300 yards and made Burrow look like a grad transfer QB (10-24 150 yds).

Let's not get emotional people. The defense was fine minus the mass subbing.

Richt tried hiring Aranda, but we can't pay SEC money. Yall better get used to having 2 tier type assistants. I don't mind Diaz because I know it could be much worse. I don't think we can afford much better to be honest.

do you think part of the problem is hes a coach that never played the game?

Yes...Him & Harley. And I'm sure our competitors use that on the recruiting trail. You can probably get away with lack of playing experience at the Pop Warner & HS level, but at the College level, players don't just want to know what you know, they also want to know what you have done. And I'll say it again, Mike Barrow or somebody like Him should be on this staff, Harley has no business coaching STs much less TEs. Pure comedy hour.

What game did you watch? Again..LSU stifled themselves on offense.

When they wanted & needed to..they got the job done.

I noticed this last year. They don’t stay square and move their feet. Everyone opens to the outside with their first step, except for Bandy. You saw it with Young, Jackson, and Delany.

Yeap. No inch back, suga step, motor press, kick slide...NOTHING.

Just open up the gate & let all the sinners through.

“Diaz is the perfect DC for Miami”

What is this a ******* dating game?

Why is he perfect? He hasnt fielded a defense in his entire career that sniffs ones coached by Shannon, Schiano, Lubick, Tubbs, or Stache. Not even remotely close.

His defense is the opposite of a Miami defense. Its the most unsound scheme we have had here not run by Mark donofrio.

This is the same man crush that cats had on James Coley, who was for years excused despite being a joke.

Diaz is average at best. He has never had a elite defense.

I'm so tired of these fier the coach threads. It's been our reality for the last 15 years. I'm over it. We can't be this unlucky.

Coker
Werner
Shannon
Nix
Golden
Every coach under Golden
Richt
Diaz
Rumph
Banda
On and on we go.....

I just want some W's right now. At some point one would hope it would come together for us.

What?! Y'all don't like the double C-gap defender scheme?! LOL

LSU ran through the B-gap on this play and scored by the way.

So you think that was designed? Just like the long touchdown. Burrows audibles out of the play and runs beside away from the blitz. Inside of hold his gap for some unnotice reason the linebacker took himself out of the play. And then there was Mr. Bad Angles at safety. I don't think we need to blitz on second and 15 but good lord your kids have to play their assignments. A couple of kids on defense should be playing their last meaningful plays unless we are devastated by injury.

Now if you want to argue that you've seen enough of some of them then hear, hear, I agree.
