Fire Blake James

Way to build a schedule there Blake.

Nice to finally have a tune up, get the young guys some burn. Too bad it was only once the team was 1-2 and Semi-hard rock was mostly empty.

To be fair, Clemson is a rotational game in the conference. Also, we play A&M week three, not week one. I don’t think anyone is sayinv to not schedule a bug out of conference game a year, just to not do it week one. We have enough to **** on Blake James without missing the mark completely.

Good lord, people can't be this dense. He didn't get to pick the Clemson game. And yes, Miami is always going to have a top end OOC game on the slate, because that helps sells season tickets in the years that FSU isn't coming to town.

There's plenty to criticize Blake for, but not loading up on cupcakes isn't one of them. Here's an idea, Miami with a competent coaching staff would win some of these games and not need to load up on crap in order to look good. That's where Blake James has failed, he hasn't hired a HC worth a ****...

Frenk isn't the person responsible for firing Blake James. The BOT will be the ones that handle that job. The university president will be the one that ultimately signs off, because well, that's what he does. That said, the BOT makes a recommendation, it's rubber stamped.

No, but Frenk is not improving the university, so he can make his way to the exit.

"UM peaked in ranking at no. 38 in the 2012 report, during former President Donna Shalala’s tenure. Now 19 spots away from that point, UM is tied with FSU at 57th, sitting 23 spots from the University of Florida, which is ranked no. 34."

When the university that costs 50k per year in tuition drops so far it is tied with FSU in the rankings, it is time to fire the school president out of a cannon.

As I've said, I wish Miami could be good at both football and academics. But at least be good in one area. Dr. Julio Frenk has given the school cancer. We are dying on both fronts.

The one thing that could have made Herbies rant a little sweeter is if he'd twisted the knife and made fun of how Frenk not only doesnt care about football, he apparently doesn't care about academics either. Id love to hear what the BOT would say to that when the school president, the guy THEY HIRED, is exposed as a huge ****.

This is when people will tell you the US News rankings are flawed and irrelevant and why the WSJ ones or whatever are better. Unfortunately, while the process is flawed, perception is reality and those are the most looked at.

I have no problem with Frenk getting lost as well, but again, that's on the BOT. I didn't want Frenk to begin with , I wanted Stavridis or someone from that group. I wanted someone that was forward thinking, a competitor that could build on what Dr. Shalala and Foote started. She was a master at using her political connects to raise a ton of money. Frenk hasn't done anything with his, I don't see his big time friends stepping up and pouring money into the University. It's the same donors that Shalala and Foote had. He hasn't expanded on that donor base at all. Never mind the fact that the faculty hates him and he has the personality of a crap sandwich.

That's one for every million dollars that Blake spent to buy out Diaz's contract with Temple...or one for every hour he spent on the coaching search.

The buyout was more than $4 million. It was closer to $5-6 million.
