Saban shouldn't lose with that roster. He wins because he has a talent advantage 99% of the time.Dude seriously? That’s your take. You don’t have to like him but thr national championships pretty much destroy your pov
Who let Finebaum take his lips off Saban's ***?"A couple weeks ago I was on SportsCenter and unloaded on the program, said they were the biggest frauds in college football, which they are and I got a text from Cristobal that night," Finebaum said on this week's ESPN college football podcast. "He said, ‘Hey, man, you know me, this is going to be a tough turnaround.’ And he’s right, but that doesn’t excuse losing to Duke, which is a bigger turnaround. I can’t back this up, and there’s no evidence to support what I’m about to say, but he will turn the corner."

Finebaum is right. $EC programs Tennessee, Ole Miss, and L$U are ascending to challenge Bama. The question will be can those programs maintain that level or will they slide back after a season or two. UT beat the Tide this season, with Ole Miss and L$U on deck to take on Saban.Actually, Finebaum has been on Saban’s neck, lately. He accused of him making excuses losing to UGA & have recently said this is Saban’s worst coaching job, this season. He believes he’s at a dangerous spot at this point of his career.
He looks like he should star on Napoleon Dynamite movieHas Paul Finebaum ever played a sport?
Saban understands that you need to recruit well enough so that the results don't always have to come down to coachingSaban is a master cutter of corners, he's a slightly above average coach
Who gives af what that "Walking ***** Lookalike" says....F-him and his SEC Di*ck sucking ***....."A couple weeks ago I was on SportsCenter and unloaded on the program, said they were the biggest frauds in college football, which they are and I got a text from Cristobal that night," Finebaum said on this week's ESPN college football podcast. But he's still a great coach who understands how to react and adapt, how to manage games, how to assemble a staff and support staff, how to develop players and how to keep the talent he's stockpiled from leaving for more immediate opportunities
I don't like him, and his familiarity with Mark Emmert has definitely allowed him to cut the corners you're alluding to. But saying he's a "slightly above average coach" is sour ******* grapes man
If your point is that he’s able to coast or cut corners because he can just point to years of success, I agree. Nobody gets to that position without selling their soul to some degree, and while it would make me feel better if that was widely acknowledged… it doesn’t change the fact that he navigated his way to the top. Which is what we all want for the coach of our program, hence the sour grapes accusationProbably some sour grapes, but……
EVERY coach understands you need to recruit well enough so that [fill in the blank]. VERY FEW have the mega resources he’s had for a long, long time to do that.
And reacting/adapting, managing games, assembling staff/support staff, developing players, keeping talent from leaving…same story. All of that is a LOT easier when you can just point and have whatever you want.
Reminds me of that Michael Jackson special years ago where he walked through some ridiculously expensive store and picked out whatever caught his eye, regardless of price. When money is no object, you can have all the nice things you want (that most people can’t).
