Finally saw Bama-OU game.

We are a couple of years away from competing at the level of the elite programs. We have elite pedigree, but at the moment we are not an elite program. I would say we are about a top 25 program.

I was amazed at the amount of depth Bama has. I really believe the second unit across the board would beat us by double digits. Outside of one or two players on our team, our talent level is about their second team level.

We need our defensive line to go two-deep. As we saw against Wisconsin, we do not have any depth on the d-line.

We have to get more elite players. This is Manny Diaz's number one job. We need four and five stars supplemented with high-end three stars. With no more than one or two undervalued two- stars.

It is about the Jimmy and Joes not X's and O's.
The only real difference I saw was OL and QB play.

Never thought of any of this before. Definitely hasn't been posted about.

Thanks for the analysis!!
If you really think about it, there are no truly "original" ideas anymore. Everything has been said or done at one point or another.

...including the use of sarcasm to respond to someone else's unoriginal post. 😏

Been hearing a couple years away for about 15 years now...

In football, you can coach around defensive depth, with a strong running game and punt game. Had we played any of those teams with this years defense backed up by a strong running game and punt game, they would've had a hardtime driving downfield. Now if you can combine that with an offense that can put points on the board, you'll get em. They can have all the depth they want, if you got elite players on the first teams, you'll be in the game, just cant make it to much of a dog fight and force them into turnovers.

Plus this is Miami, depth is not going to be a big deal, first team execution will be what makes the difference. Health of the first teamers will make the difference, those teams are doing decent, they are not that much better than everybody else like people keep trying to make it out to be. We just look mediocre because of our lack of offensive execution. You'll see how quick we catch up if we keep playing defense like we have been and if we start scoring points, which i know we will cause the offensive talent will be more physically mature and even rejuvenated if the scheme is right. We'll have better overall athletes on the o-line to as well. Going to be interesting once the new o-line coach comes in and where he places people. Will he see gaynor as a center or guard, will he keep scaife at tackle, what side will donaldson play on, who will be the tackles. The move by many to get rid of the entire offensive staff will definitely give all the offensive guys a chance to be starters, so the competition on offense and for spots just got escalated, whatever games and crying those guys were doing, gotta prove yourself now to the new crew, "NO EXCUSES", you either a balla or you not, gotta show and tell now!
But we lost so many guys ....Milo, Boulware (is that his name?), Figgles, Rosier....the list goes on and on.

If it was only about Jimmy and Joes we wouldn’t have barely scored on Duke, UVA, and Wisconsin.
I hate it when they call players Jimmies and Joe's. Especially when football will break the gender wall in a few years...and after that the gender identity wall.
