In football, you can coach around defensive depth, with a strong running game and punt game. Had we played any of those teams with this years defense backed up by a strong running game and punt game, they would've had a hardtime driving downfield. Now if you can combine that with an offense that can put points on the board, you'll get em. They can have all the depth they want, if you got elite players on the first teams, you'll be in the game, just cant make it to much of a dog fight and force them into turnovers.
Plus this is Miami, depth is not going to be a big deal, first team execution will be what makes the difference. Health of the first teamers will make the difference, those teams are doing decent, they are not that much better than everybody else like people keep trying to make it out to be. We just look mediocre because of our lack of offensive execution. You'll see how quick we catch up if we keep playing defense like we have been and if we start scoring points, which i know we will cause the offensive talent will be more physically mature and even rejuvenated if the scheme is right. We'll have better overall athletes on the o-line to as well. Going to be interesting once the new o-line coach comes in and where he places people. Will he see gaynor as a center or guard, will he keep scaife at tackle, what side will donaldson play on, who will be the tackles. The move by many to get rid of the entire offensive staff will definitely give all the offensive guys a chance to be starters, so the competition on offense and for spots just got escalated, whatever games and crying those guys were doing, gotta prove yourself now to the new crew, "NO EXCUSES", you either a balla or you not, gotta show and tell now!
