Finally, posters have corrected for a reality check

Many on here are speaking realistically about UVA. Most state we win ... but it will be a dog fight for much of the game:
1. Emotional let down
2. Sore bodies
3. UVA has a top 27 Defense
4. UVA has a Mobile QB
5. Richt conservative game plan
6. UM Special Teams
Don't forget UVA had a bye week. Time to suck it up and dominate in Primetime.

College Football Live already saying something wrong with UM because we didn't blow out FSU. Those guys can be a clown show sometimes. Just looking at the score and not the game. We held FSU to 200 yards. They really only had 1 good drive and that was their 1st drive of the game. Nobody giving credit to FSU's defense. They finally played up to the talent level they had. Anyone who actually watched the game saw and understood that FSU was not the same ****** team they had been the past few weeks.

Funny that nobody said anything about Clemson just getting by Syracuse at home where they should have lost for the 2nd year in a row. Last time I checked, no Clemson QB plays defense. Oh, they get a pass.

Give us back Feagles shank punts. They are better than punting it outa bounds. Btw why does our kicker look so distraught when he misses a kick. Man i be feeling bad for him

I don’t get that at all. We haven’t played down to anyone this year.

At the end of the day we have superior talent.

Canes 34-10.

Um, lsu?

Other than that game, I'm fine with how all the games ended up, but can you really say that our team doesn't just disappear sometimes? The whole team looked disinterested for most of the first half on Saturday, and that's not the first time it's happened. Just like last year, we sleepwalk through a quarter or two then turn it on and win. Which is fine until you play a team with similar talent, or forget to wake up at all, then you lose. Not because the other team is better, but because you never showed up.

FSU DC is pretty good. Dude is very aggressive with the blitzes. I put this game on the ST and Richt timid calling on first down. We need to show in these next 6 games that we are better than what we shown against FSU.

Idk man LSU has been very good this year so far. Even with the loss to the Gators.

We definitely are a slow starting team, but I don’t think that’s cause we are playing down to other teams though. I think it’s new use our OL is inconsistent.

Not to mention Kosi has only started 2 games, which of one of those he only threw 12 passes.

Same thing with Washington vs UCLA.
You have to earn the right to get a pass with the media and pollsters.

To be honest, if you look at our schedule, we're doing exactly what we did last year.
Wisconsin= LSU (another loss vs a Top 15, good defensive team).
BCU=FIU
Toledo=Toledo (same type game)
Duke=UNC
FSU=FSU (another comeback win in a game we were favored)

If we're going to change the perception of us being a 15-25th rank team, we have to go on a run of thumping teams
starting this Saturday night.

The reality check is the other direction. Canes have been severely overpriced in two games this season -- LSU and Florida State. Not particularly complicated. I have posted this link previously, the preseason evaluation of roster strength for every team. As always, everything tends to drift back to the beginning. Whenever you think it is a brilliant idea to give 13 or 14 points, this type of chart might be a valuable kick in the head:

https://athlonsports.com/college-football/ranking-college-footballs-rosters-2018

On the other hand, as I posted prior to the Toledo game there are always going to be geniuses who zig when they should zag, and the other way around, the ones who thought we would roll against LSU but were somehow scared of -10.5 or thereabouts against Toledo. That same type was all over Miami -13 last week but now is scared of giving 6 points to the #52 roster in Virginia.

I’m not scared of Virginia nor do I believe the Canes are either. Yes they’re D is ranked 27th in the nation currently after A. Not playing anyone. And B. Playing with 3 underclassmen on their DL. Now that we’ve gotten the OL fixed, look for us to pound Homer and Dallas with play action bombs downfield off of it. We’ll pound the Cavs into submission by midway 3rd quarter and win this one by 17

I agree. Life isn't fair even in college football. Washington hasn't beaten anyone either. It's all perception.

We just need to handle our business and let the chips fall where they may. Just keep grinding, adding more depth, and improving to the point where we can take down Clemson. We won't get respect until we do. I'm not expecting it this year, but perhaps in 2019.

I agree his 1st down play calling was terrible. So predictable. I can't believe we don't have more than 3 running plays from which we run only one play (read optionwhich isn't really an option) 90% of the run and they occur on 1st down 90% of the time. He really needs to mix it up to help the offensive line.

4 out of the next 5 games are on the road. It's on the coaches, IMO, to keep the team mentally tough during this stretch.

I'll give UVA a half to play well, I'm sorry, but it's going to take something special to beat our defense down, the way they turned the game vs fsu in the second half was **** impressive.

Miami held them to +/-50 yards in the second half and three first downs, they had two plays that accounted for 24yds outside of that they had 26yards on 30 plays. Sheer dumb luck gets you more that that on most days.

Wow, where did u get those stats? If true its even worse than i thought. Richt is not helping the OL out. If the opposition knows whats coming it don't matter how good you are especially in the run game. Its ridiculous really

7. Perry is suspended for breaking team rules
8. Scott Stadium is prohibiting the use of the turnover chain

The only way we lose to UVA is if we are forced to play the entire game in new dress shoes.

As bad as our Special Teams are, I never expect a blowout anymore. Not sure how Richt continues to overlook this group and Hartley

UVA gave us a great game last year ONLY because their QB played like he was Tom Brady for 3 quarters.

That was one ungodly performance and he's gone now

When he came back down to earth in the 4th Qtr, we controlled the game.

I never expect blowouts during ACC play. From top to bottom, as a whole, I'd put the ACC as one of the very best this year
