On and for all you "they are burning our schools flag".....

That school is dead. Unless you went to Miami post 2005, this "New U" wants nothing to do with you. They have made conscious efforts to change the makeup of the student body, and to de-emphasize their brand as a football school.

You have people on here crying about a flag being burned, yet are the first to defend Shalala/Blake/BOT/Golden when they have burned down our program.

What a load of crap.

What does your silly post have to do with anything that was said? No, Golden has not been doing a fantastic job thus far in many aspects. Doesn't change the fact that GS's post was a load of crap...the school isn't "dead"...it's pure BS that the school wants nothing to do with people from before 2005, and it's BS that anyone "burned down the program."

Absolute disgrace? The school completely ****ed him over.

Huh didnt they confess?

The kid charged with sexual assault or rape or something? The school ****ed him over?

The kid who was accused of sexual assault and took PTI because the state couldn't prove their accusations? Yeah.

Huh? Didnt they confess

they plead guilty for lesser charges.. Don't be mad at UM homie you did not hold up your side to get a free education. Sincerely someone still paying for his lol

No they didn't not plead guilty nor plead to anything since taking PTI in the 11th circuit does not require a defendant to plea in that circumstance. This has been said twice now in the thread so I'll assume you can't read.

K
Kid is acting like a complete *****. Disagree with the people blaming golden on the recruiting job tho. Kid came from a military family and seemed like a diamond in the rough when he was brought in.

We all loved him then. Some of you posters were still playing around on "grassy", or whatever. But no one was knocking the signing until now. The kids ****ed up big time, and his immaturity is pure as day. I'm not a golden fan, but this isn't on him. That said, kick rocks Figs!!

So his immaturity is "pure as day" to you based off very limited data, yet Folden shouldn't be blamed for signing him despite access to much more data and access to his checkered past?

So which current recruit is destined for jail time? Hind sight is 20/20 around here dude. So let's say Chad Thomas or Stacey Coley go out and commit some egregious act next week. Then what? What checkered past besides the GPA are you talking about? I honestly am not aware. Spread some knowledge that you had and Golden didn't.

We've gone from 5 national championships in less than 20 years to the definition of mediocrity at best under these folks watch. Secondly, the only reason we retained Folden is due to the penny pinchers in the admin and BOT being unwilling to pay the unseemly buyout that they were hoodwinked into giving him in the first place. When you can't point to one actual football reason why a coach with an overall losing record is retained at a program with the tradition of the University of Miami, it's not hard to see why the atmosphere among the fans has turned toxic. Anyone with a clue saw this coming as they were having their internal discussions about firing or retaining Folden.

pre-trial intervention does not mean they plead guilty

everyone here is arguing over legal technicalities but leaving out the fact that the girl wasn't old enough to buy cigarettes at the time of this happening.

Since the last person I asked failed to articulate it, let's see if you can. What legal "technicalities" are we arguing about?

FCK the "technicalities"!

The scumbag admitted to drugging and raping an unconscious girl! And you then defend the piece of sht???????

He shouldn't have been kicked out of school, he should be getting raped in prison for the next 20-30years!

He'll end up in jail again (I hope he doesn't and make some serious focking life changes). Sociopath blaming other people but himself for his rape is nothing new.

4 signs for spotting a sociopath
#1) Sociopaths are charming- Speaks well and is charismatic son of military parents
#2) Sociopaths are more spontaneous and intense than other people.- Doesn't get more spontaneous than raping someone too drunk to be competent. Also out of no where he burnt a UM flag on video threatening the public.
#3) Sociopaths are incapable of feeling shame, guilt or remorse- Even though his lawyers plead guilty for him he's still blaming a school for not allowing him to stay on campus when he is a danger to society (as evident by the thought process it takes to rape someone).
#4) Sociopaths seek to dominate others and "win" at all costs. - Get's kicked out of school for being a danger to a civil society yet still wants to stick it to people he has never met because he can't be held accountable.

whether or not pretrial intervention is an admission of guilt. whether or not it's indicative of the prosecutor's inability to pursue based on the evidence gathered or the refusal of the victim to participate further. i'm not a lawyer, so i can't make an informed comment on those things.

i do, however, work in collegiate administration (not um), so what i can comment on is the fact that the case revolves around an intoxicated minor having ***, consensual or not, with adults that provided her with the substances. that's enough for the two to get kicked out of school regardless of how their legal case plays out.

this is a title ix issue and we're on probation. kicking them out of school was a no-brainer.

We get it Mr. Dershowitz. You are saying they received PTI for a violent *** crime, which is very unusual, since violent crimes aren't even eligible for PTI. So you are rationalizing that they must be innocent. The legal "technicalities" Dont change the fact that keeping them on the team creates an ugly story and a guaranteed Title XI lawsuit.

They bought drinks and tag teamed an unconscious 17 year old student, with knowledge she took Xanax, Molly or whatever. Maybe she "wanted" it, but who are you to know for sure?

they allegedly admitted to police that they "raped" her, and at that point they were dismissed. Nothing the school could have done differently, and hopefully they learned the life lesson that you don't talk to police without an attorney.

The charges aren't dismmised until PTI is completed, so those charges are still hanging over them. the school can't just let them back without a serious ****le XI lawsuit happening.

Isn't Figs from Virginia?

Don't you have to plead guilty to recieve PTI if you live out the state of Florida for the probationary period?

Maybe next time you and your boy Matlock are down at the courthouse, one of you could get some files, I'm curious to see what they were actually charged with.

Where did they admit that they raped her?

She was 17 or 18. You guys act like she was 10 and the guys she was banging were 30. The age difference between the alleged victim and the alleged perpetrators was only a couple years.

so you're saying that as long as there's only a small difference in age, there's nothing wrong with giving someone that's under the age of consent alcohol or drugs and having *** with them while they're under the influence. that's not even legal with someone that's 21 years old.

christ this board has gone to ****. you ******* idiots will stoop to any level to discredit the school, even when they do what any other reasonable university would do. sexual assault and title ix are being policed so hard across the country that there is no other choice anymore.
