Fight broke out during Canes practice.

So, yesterday was the SECOND players only meeting . Apparently a couple of weeks ago there was a players only meeting that was started by the FRESHMEN - in particular, Kam Kinchens and James Williams (among others) brought everyone together to talk about what needed to happen....

The third meeting should be in Frenk’s office, where they explain why they will all hit the portal en masse unless Blake and Manny are removed.

Yeah but 5 games into the season and the ship is sinking? Cant even rally the team to finish with some pride? Cant ask season ticket holders to bite the bullet and go out there and sit through this torture with 4 more home games left. I honestly wish the UNC game was this Saturday so we can get this loss over with and move on in some capacity. At least we would have closure. Maybe the players would rally around another coach on the team. They have clearly given up on rallying to save Manny.

This team and its fans legitimately expected a 10 win season. Once it started, we got blown out vs Alabama and were never competitive, barely hung on vs a G5 team in a game we very easily could have lost, got embarrassed on our home field vs Michigan State, and doubled down on that embarrassment by losing on national TV to a team with maybe 1 kid we recruited. There's not much to rally for, honestly. How many times can you get off the mat only to be tagged in the teeth before you decide you really don't want to do this anymore?

I'm sure some kids will come to play against UNC. Of course everyone says we'll get blown out, we might. But there are kids who can make plays on this team. For the most part they haven't, but we have tangible evidence that they're at least capable of doing so. Maybe a few of them do in Chapel Hill and weird things happen? I surely wouldn't be surprised. But all these accounts of the mood of the team being completely toxic....well that's what happens when you think you're going to be good for 8 months and then you're 2-3 before you realize what happened.

There is probably a lot of kids that will come to play….thing is will the idiot in charge put them in the game .

Some of this stuff is what I wanted to post about. Not the fight this just happened but the guy I’ve mentioned several times having a close relationship with on a staff said they’ve all quit on manny. He’s lost his locker room and staff. My two Texas boys are contemplating coming home which I know you guys don’t care about Corey but arroyo would be a big loss
Makes no sense for EITHER to go.

Considering FLAGG logs major mins and Arroyo is likely a co starter as well.

Flagg especially where is he going to go to..UH?

Apparently punches were being thrown during Canes practice. One player almost decked a defensive assistant, so it must have been some battle.

Barry Jackson delivered that info so... Idk what to say rn, whether thats a good thing or a bad thing.

edit: mr. 15-0 told me to add something, so here: if the coach would have been decked, it would have been an accident. he tried to break it up and almost got popped himself (which is why i dont go into fights)

reason why they fought is because they ran sprints for penalties. if you dont show full effort, the whole group that you are in has to run the sprints all over again. some players apparently didnt, hence the fight.

player meeting happened afterwards, without the coaches being present. manny made another stupid comparison after that meeting that i dont even want to quote here...
I bet there was a lot of hair pulling

Why does it matter? Of course the ultimate competitor wants to play. After the injuries he had that were not unknown to the staff they kept sending him out there because he gave them the best chance to win, that is pure negligence and they took advantage of him
It matters because you’re saying it’s pure negligence. This would present a bigger issue with the medical staff as well. That’s why it matters. Like someone mentioned, there’s a fine line in playing hurt vs injured. I’m sure D’Eriq wasn’t clueless and understood the situation.

Doesn’t matter if he wanted to play or not…it’s why trainers take a player’s helmet from them….to protect them from themselves.A player like King is ALWAYS going to want to get back in there…it’s up to the adults in charge to make sure he doesn’t.
King is 24 years old, stop it. You listen to veteran players, talk through the situation and make a collective decision. Now if injury severity was withheld or not fully explained, then that’s a HUGE issue. Coaches aren’t medical experts and shouldn’t act as such. The trainers ultimately didn’t take his helmet from him during App State or MSU game.

Love how fast it goes from fire Manny to burn the entire university to the ground by going to Yahoo as the way to improve football and recruiting….

Seems like we can never catch a break and this "toxic locker room" cycle always seems to show its ugly face when we are in the dumps. Everyone remember the "Tracy Howard specifically told XYZ recruit to not come here" talk during the Golden days? Cant remember what recruit it was. Just seems like this program is always in some BS drama. Never can seem to handle adversity as players or coaches as a whole.

When the Turnover Chain was in full effect and we were on national TV and everyone loved us early last year and all of 2017...everyone on the team and in the program loved each other. Now they all cant even stand to be in the same room and we are only 5 games into the season needing a "Players Only Meeting". Manny is too busy trying to call his realtor to hurry and put his house on the market while he can still demand 100k over the asking price...Blake is doing corny interviews trying to let the public think his job is safe..Frenk has no clue what the **** is going on and thought we were on cruise control when he took this job and now knows he actually has to do some work over in the athletic side of the campus.....the 75 member BOT cant agree on anything and is now scrambling because the "we have no money (shrug)" narrative has run its course..Manny Diaz Sr, who I thought was dead, is calling in favors to help his son apparently....What the **** is going on over there in Coral Gables and what good reason does any fan have to waste time and money to attend anymore home games this year??
The problem is we keep hiring coaches who aren’t qualified for the job. Richt’s first two years show what a halfway competent coach can do. They are trying to do the cheap hire like Jankovic did, the difference is Jankovic knew his **** and Blake is a ******* moron.

Thing is they didn’t have to go cheap this time..Richt left them the money to use…Blake just took it up the *** from manny’s daddy and liked it so he hired his son to please daddy ….

I get it. This whole thing was jacked from the jump. When they hired Manny same day I knew this would eventually fall apart. I get hiring Manny if you do a legit search and guys turn you down. But just giving him the job was total ineptitude.

No matter what kind of list Flake was searching from he’d of had to go through AT LEAST 100+ names before getting to Manny’s ….especially with what we are finding out now was a 5.5 million dollar buyout just to get him back from Temple..
