The Field of 68 crew named the top-50 returning college basketball players to return for the 2026-27 season. Miami Hurricanes upcoming sophomore Shelton Henderson was named to the list.
Coming out of high school, Henderson was one of the highest-ranked recruits to commit to the basketball program. Going into the 2025-26 college basketball season, there were high expectations for Henderson, which he exceeded tremendously.
This past season, Shelton finished the year with 13.7 points per game, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He also shot 55.9 percent from the floor, and shot 26 percent from behind the arc.
Henderson has a big body and is built like a linebacker on the basketball court. Shelton drives well downhill to the basket, but he must work on becoming a reliable outside threat this offseason to take his game to the next level.
