Fernando Mendoza

Louisville (assuming they don't have half their roster injured) probably puts up 30+ on Indiana if they play them like they played us,
Brohm had a great game plan. Tons of looks that were putting our guys in conflict. Add in I. Brown being a game changer and Bell being a monster and it was a great gameplan. That said they only scored 24 in a game where Beck turned it over 4x and Dawson called probably his worst game since he’s been here.

One player did not make that much of a difference. We came out second half and took away the free throws and Mendoza struggled. Should have done it from the beginning.

I wonder if they did that in the second half BECAUSE lucas was back on the field and they didn't feel as comfortable doing it with Scott/Oconnor out there

I noticed something watching it live and maybe someone who is more knowledgeable can comment but first half our CBs were playing pretty far off. My thought candidly was we were ok with giving them underneath stuff but I imagine playing off helps a ton with the back shoulder throw they live off of.

Offensive couldnt catch a cold in the 1H and defense was still playing **** good, only giving up 10 without being able to move the ball.

2H we knew we needed to come back and couldnt let them milk clock. Maybe it was Lucas, or maybe it was just a byproduct of how the game was being played. Regardless we started to creep up, (O'Connor included) which is why I dont think it was purely a Lucas thing, then once we did that all they really had was the back shoulder.

it was noticeable in game. we paid far too much respect to him than we should have. dude is average AF in a better system than at Cal. we should have dominated them but we spotted them a lead against a disciplined team who cheats and gave up a free TD on the missed block.

i think they went and looked at some of the in game film and realized hes trash.

adjusted and took everything away. the second half we dominated them and they couldnt really stop us on offense once we got going. if we replay that game, we win going away. such a shame.
