Fermaninator says get your Adidas Cane gear

Man, **** Nike. I haven't bought any of there crap for well over a decade. I absolutely despise that brand and a switch to anyone else would be a win since there would be more shirts and stuff available.

Nike has made arguably our worst looking uniforms to date. That doesn't only go for us, but dozens of other schools across the country. Nike has all but erased tradition out of the uniforms in general and several schools all sport the same basic design. It's a bunch of lazy cookie cutting design at work the last decade.

I didn't read the entire 12 pages, so hopefully it's still likely to happen.

are you kidding me? nike created horrible jerseys, have you seen ua jerseys for maryland...adidas jerseys for michigan? dude, get a clue...kids are all about the glitz, not the tradition anymore....oregon started that crap and now a whole bunch of schools are following suit. nike created our traditional jersey look....and we had some non-traditional jerseys and the combos were picked by golden and co. they've been a great partner for us and generated a lot of revenue for the athletic dept even though it was spent unwisely.

tradition has worked well for Bama, florida, USC, etc. i really dont care which company we have but i do have a question. how r we able to sell UA gear at the bookstore if were still a Nike school and would be one until August 2015.

also, w the jersey comment nike hasn't given us a decent look since 2003. the last three jerseys they designed were hideous

Matt Porter reported that the switch to Adidas can and will indeed hurt w/ recruiting and merchandise sales. Michigan experience the same thing after their switch. He also stated that the tweet that went out stated that 8/10 people prefer Nike over Adidas. We were the first school to do exclusives rights with an apparel company 27 years ago...we started this trend and that trend was w/ and only has been w/ Nike. Literally the two go hand and hand...it makes no difference if we get more upfront money when our back end money will be dried up. This admin knows no bounds of tradition.

They are treating this deal like the Golden deal. They look at Golden buy out as saving up front money, when we will be f&&ked on the back end money (ticket sales, bigger bowl game pay-outs, conference championship game pay outs, etc.) This Admin knows nothing about anything...you think keeping Golden and his record was hurting recruiting...just wait until we keep Golden and we stop dawning the swoosh.

Porter reported that a switch to Adidas will hurt recruiting? Did he do a scientific study on it?

sent out a tweet apparently and the overwhelming response was that 80% chose nike over any other brand, including under armour.

i think rothwell sent that out. he got a lot of the info from rothwell including whether nike will match it or not bc rothwell spoke to a salesperson and they told him theyre not sure. also we haven't really seen what another company would do w our brand. maybe they create better looking stuff than nike. Porter actually did very little research of his own.

There was a point in my life where I cared about stuff like this. But not anymore. We balled out in Russell Athletic gear. I don't care if we switch to Bugle Boy, as long as we win some **** games.

my thing is our tradition has been w/ nike...i don't understand why any of you "traditionalist" don't get that. we got in bed w/ nike 27 years ago...THE FIRST SCHOOL TO EVER DO AN EXCLUSIVE CONTRACT W/ AN APPAREL COMPANY. So for all you cats saying we need tradition this and tradition that...NIKE IS OUR TRADITION. Before Nike became exclusive w/ ANY other school, they became exclusive w/ us FIRST. So why would you break another tradition? We already have broken the tradition of winning by keeping this fat lump of cancer in Golden. We've already broken tradition by tearing down our own fence in the State of Miami, now we're going to break tradition on our life-long sponsor??? FOH.

LOL @ the Bugle Boy Reference....got dang that took me back. hahahaha! Good Stuff.

The switch to Adidas put's the annual payout between $7.5 and $8.0 million dollars and you guys are complaining, why? This is a good thing and Adidas outfits 11 of the 65 Power Conference schools and is second only to Nike and they are building their brand. Most of the SEC West wears Adidas and they aren't doing too bad. Here is a list of Adidas schools:

ACC: Boston College-Under Armour (UA), Georgia Tech-Russell Athletic, Louisville-adidas, NC State-adidas

Big 10: Indiana-adidas, Michigan-adidas, Nebraska-adidas, Wisconsin-adidas; Maryland-UA, Northwestern-UA,

Big 12: Kansas-adidas, Texas Tech-UA

Pac 12: UCLA-adidas, Utah-UA

SEC: Auburn-UA, Mississippi State-adidas, South Carolina-UA, Tennessee-adidas, Texas A&M-adidas

Independent: Notre Dame-UA

This is a good thing, nothing wrong with being different.

And Arizona State will be leaving Nike to go with Adidas.

I think going with Under Armour would be very intriguing. Their football stuff is solid.

Wouldn't be great for hoops though.

Go with Adidas.

The football stuff is even ... But Adidas basketball is definitely ahead of UA.

This thread is hilarious. Of all the problems plaguing this program right now, the uniform manufacturer is the least of my concerns. I'm pretty sure at least 3 of the top 10 schools in the current 2015 recruiting rankings are Adidas schools.

3 adidas 3 UA. in top 15. 1 ua and 1 adidas in top 10

Guess who the 4 teams in the playoffs and the winner of the last 15 NCs is/was sponsored by?

Nike

no they're not...you guys kill me w/ that russell athletic bull. Sonny V (yes the same Sonny that put Jordan in touch w/ Nike) put us in touch w/ Nike 27 years ago to be the first school to have an exclusive rights contract w/ an apparel company in 1987. Miami was thee first school to sign such a clause...that's right, even before Mr. Knight's Alma Mater Oregon. We started the trend of the exclusive rights deal and it all started w/ Nike.

I am shocked at some of you that are making a big deal of this. anything that brings the program more money is a good thing in my book. and this is probably a non- issue to most recruits. plus adidas makes cooler superior quality gear than nike in my opinion.

Well sir that is your opinion, not 16-18 year old kids who we are trying to recruit.

Go to any 7 on 7 or camp and check what all these kids are rocking.

Well over 80% are rocking Nike cleats and gloves, and some are wearing Nike shorts or shirts or sweatbands, and have a **** Nike bag.

I had to think when Auburn won the title and when they had Cam Newton, they had switched to UA. Good call.

No kid wants to wear Adidas.

At this rate the basketball team will come out in LA Gearz light up shoes in a few years.
