Fermaninator says get your Adidas Cane gear

Let's be real... Adidas is not on Nikes level by ANY means.... Our administration and decision makers only care about any extra money they can make so they will sacrifice our image just to make that happen....

What is our image? A swoosh or a decade of mediocrity?

I think UA pays a million dollars of Spurrier's deal at SoCar, would be interesting to see if they'd be financially invested into our coaching situation.

They would be suckers to not care that we use the money properly. Our admin doesn't do that.

Texas A&M just landed a 5 star today. I was told 5 stars only wanna wear Nike. Whats the deal?

Just like Adidas sponsors a handful of Power 5 teams, a handful of 5 star recruits leak into Adidas wearing school. I promise you, once Texas comes back into the fold as a National Power, TAMU won't be getting anymore 5 star recruits.

It won't be because they wear Nike and TAMU wears Addidas though.

Winning helps recruiting in football not the clothes you wear.

In basketball its a slightly different story because the AAU circuit and their affiliation with certain brands.

If you asked 100 people what was Miami's image was associated with, 0 would chose Nike. I'd say almost all would say either the U on the helmets, colors, or mascot.

Nike wasn't Nike until they did bold things like sign an exclusive deal with Miami and paid some rising basketball star a **** ton of money to wear their gear. Adidas and Under Armour are trying to do the same now. Who knows what brand will be number 1 in 10 to 20 years.

it's not just look. Addidas is the worst when it comes to performance and function. Athletes don't want to wear their crap. The reason Nike offers less money is because they don't have to pay teams as much to wear their gear. Athletes want to wear Nike. Under Armor would have been better but this is crap. Now, if all of a sudden the Athletic Department can afford to fire Al, then I'm all for it.

LOL. I've worn Adidas gear and it performs just the same as Nike and Under Armor. You're a sheep...a marketers dream.

Notre Dame got $90M from Under Armour.

I'd guess we could do pretty close to that, we'd easily be their 2nd biggest brand.

Man this thread shows you that marketing truly does have a function in society lol

How dumb to complain about possibly getting an additional $3-5 Mil a year to have a diff logo in some corner of the jersey.

We ***** and moan that we don't have big money donors to compete with the big boys. Guess what? This change instantly adds the equivalent of 5 bull donors. That influx is a program changer.

If you've ever *****ed for better facilities, higher pay for coaches and assts, Stop being a bunch of girls and pray this happens.

This thread is hilarious. Of all the problems plaguing this program right now, the uniform manufacturer is the least of my concerns. I'm pretty sure at least 3 of the top 10 schools in the current 2015 recruiting rankings are Adidas schools.

3 adidas 3 UA. in top 15. 1 ua and 1 adidas in top 10

Guess who the 4 teams in the playoffs and the winner of the last 15 NCs is/was sponsored by?

Nike

Auburn is sponsored by Nike?

oops somebody forgot to tell cam newton and those boys they cant win if they're not rocking the check mark on their jerseys lol. those guys were also beating fsu asses in the trenches last year with non nike gear cut it out yall

The same one that's been number 1 for the past 4 decades.... Nike!!

I can't believe this thread has made it to 17 pages. Apparently the soft shouldered ***** attitude perpetrated by Golden and Co. has even affected the fans. You mother****ers are way too concerned with product these guys are wearing.

Georgia Tech wears Russell Athletic and they made these coaches and this team look like ****. Louisville and Nebraska did the same thing, but they did it rocking Adidas. You mother****ers are brainwashed by advertising and don't even realize it. If a recruit won't go to a school because of who sponsors the uniforms, **** him. Someone willing to decide their future based on what brand sponsors the school, is a ******* moron.

And for what it's worth, Adidas just stole three big designers from Nike. Nike is so worried about them taking their innovation to Adidas, that they are suing the designers.

22 pages on the WEZ, and I came to the same conclusion. If you care more about the designer logo than the on-field product, you're part of the problem.

Our best days ever came wearing Russell f'kin' Athletic jerseys, and everybody sweating Miami Starter jackets. I give no ***** about Nike if they don't want to match the extra 3 million.

It's funny how people say Nike has screwed us over, and that our last three uniforms have been hideous. Guess what?

1) The admin is really to blame! The product sucks, and the brand we had has deteriorated because of it. Why is Nike gonna pump all that money into us when we aren't relevant right now? Blame the admin. Again.

2) The recent unis are gorgeous. They were ranked as one of the top new uniforms this season. Better yet, the players, the ones who wear them and the ones whose opinion actually matters, love them.

So consumers, the ones who purchase the apparel, don't matter? I beg to differ. I agree, at the end it is on the Administration and Athletic Department. They are the ones that allow the idiotic helmets, new colors, stupid stripes, clams, etc. They have no clue what it takes to build a brand, which is frustrating for someone like myself who does it for a living. This football team is the schools biggest marketing machine, whether they like to admit or not, and they have allowed it to reach it's lowest point since the 70's.

Agree with this.

And here is the thing, if we had a competent administration (which we don't) this would be a dream come true. The 4 million extra could go to 2 mill a year more for a big time HC and the other 2 mill to increase the assistant salary. 4.5 million a year at Miami is all of a sudden a very very attractive job.

Adidas could over us $50m more per season and this Admin will still find a way to F up and use it for any and everything but Athletics. There's nothing competent about this admin's decision making, from hiring coaches, maintaining long-lasting relatioships w/ endorsers or in the community. This is just another example of greed superceding logic. Haven't Nevin Shapiro taught us anything about Miami? They are in it for the money, not for the student athletes.
