Fermaninator says get your Adidas Cane gear

D rose, huh? I'm a bulls fan and he's been experiencing nothing but knee injuries since pimping adidas shoes. D Howard....nothing but knee and back injuries. Iman Shumpert...same thing. KG once he switched, started experiencing Shin problems. I'm a true sneaker head and Nike is the optimum when it comes to shoes, including cleats. I hope Miami does the right thing and stay w/ Nike.

Lol by your logic, guess kobes injuries were bc of Nike since he was healthy w Adidas lol

Every shoe company has their flaws...****, even Curry complained about Nike not giving him the ankle support needed and that was a reason why he switch to Under Armour (plus they offered more money)...but there was an article talking about the amount of serious injuries from footware and those who wore Adidas suffered way more serious injuries than those who wore Nikes...one idea is that Adidas, who specialize in European design, mainly focused on Futbol, Tennis, and casual wear. The quality put into to more American athletics were not quite there. Meanwhile, Nike's main focus was American Sports from the get-go....once again, that's just a theory...it could also be just coincidence as well, I'm not a shoe quality expert.

Here's what I do know, Nike is an iconic brand and the swoosh does lure kids. When KU went from Nike to Adidas, it hurted their recruiting immediately. Some recruits have flat out refused to go to a school just b/c they weren't sponsored by Nike. Stupid? Possibly, but it is what it is. My cousin refused to go to Auburn b/c they were sponsored by UA and he chose Ole Miss instead (before transferring to Southern Miss). Just saying.

to offer a counter example to your cousin, Andrew wiggins chose an Adidas school over a Nike school. Also the nba uses adidas. Also nfl switched from reebok to Nike not Adidas to Nike for whoever said it earlier

NFL went from Adidas to Nike in 2013. And yes, Wiggins did chose an Adidas school...just like he chose to sign w/ Adidas now. Nike doesn't need to throw the bank at players....the residual income from shoe sales is enough. There are alwasys going to be exception to the rules, but don't think that a Wiggins is the rule...he's more the exception.
Reebok!!!
Not Adidas dude.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...fault didn't inow reebok was owned by Adidas.

Lol agreed. Our first concern should be what our team will look like next year under golden vs what they look like wearing Adidas instead of Nike.

Exactly!! At this point, we can be sponsored by Li-Ning and as long as we win chips, I'll be happy. My biggest thing right now is why even remotely jeopardize our recruiting potential for a some extra money that will not be reinvested in our athletic dept? FSU and UF will still have that swoosh on their jersey. We would look like odd balls. Even UCF has the swoosh on their jersey. Instead of worrying about that, this admin should be worrying about how to fix our fledgling football program and signing w/ another apparel company is not step 1 into doing that.

Agreed w everything you said. Btw, wasn't ucf switching to Nike bc of Marcus Jordan refusing to wear anything but his dad's shoes? I remember ucf having to shell out a ton of money

You are correct, sir; that was the rumor, at least. The swoosh still holds a 80% stake in the shoe world of athletics and they're not going any where anytime soon. I don't know if you play video games, but just to show the type of impact Nike has made, in sports games when you create a player's career, you EARN the opportunity to wear Nikes...not Adidas or UAs, Nikes. So kids are flushed with this idea that Nike is the way to go. Everything this admin has done thus far is questionable, and it's frustrating as heck for long time Canes fan like many on this board. To see bad decision after bad decision made is disheartening at best.

My phone gets breaking recruiting news all day and we are the only team not making any noise in mid-december...yet we're talking breaking a long last relationship w/ the most powerful sponsor in the world to gain a couple of dollars more on the front end?? It's just not right, here, at the U now.

If Adidas brings back the Old School Bad Boys of the Eighties Uniforms with the White Helmets, I will personally kiss the *** of the nearest Adidas rep.

Especially if it's a young female.

If it's a guy, he gets an air kiss.

Of course, they have to use the 3 mil to buy out Golden's contract and BRING BACK BUTCH!

CORAL GABLES — The University of Miami’s 26-year partnership with Nike – the first of its kind in college athletics – may be coming to an end.

UM has not renewed its contract with Nike, which expires Aug. 31, 2015, and competitors Adidas and Under Armour have submitted formidable bids to replace Nike as the official supplier to Hurricanes athletics.

UM Athletic Director Blake James confirmed to the Post two undisclosed companies made bids and said Nike has an opportunity to match.

The bids submitted by Adidas and Under Armour are believed to be several million dollars per year richer than Nike’s deal with UM. As a private institution, UM does not release information on such contracts.

“Right now all I would say is we have a great partner in Nike and as our contract is coming to an end, we’re evaluating the options that are out there and available,” James said.

I honestly don't care, it's just gonna be funny to see them get this huge payday and still act poor.

This program is a complete **** show. Next year we will be wearing Gold helmets probably.

This is all that matters. I know it is important to look fresh in nike gear but winning and funding the program takes priority.
