According to the board, Cristobal wouldn't go to Miami because the BOT hasn't shown a commitment to winning. But if the BOT wants to demonstrate its newfound commitment to winning by hiring Cristobal and pledging to give him the resources he needs, then he wouldn't go to Miami because they haven't proven that they are willing to invest in a coach like Cristobal.

Your evidence that Miami is a career killer is based on Al Golden, Randy Shannon, and Larry Coker not getting other P5 HC opportunities. It could be that or the far more sensible reason that all them are bad head coaches. In the list of reasons they failed, few people blame the school, whereas there are lots of personal traits that made them poor fits.

Tell me- what do you think happens to Oregon after Phil Knight dies? You think the Nike Corporation, with its hundreds of millions invested in other programs, will continue to pour money into a school that doesn't really move the needle nationally?

Yes. Phil Knight isn't the only Oregon supporter with Nike, there's several. Oregon is a lucrative brand for them. And Phil isn't their only rich booster lol, they have many millionaires that contribute to their program from the Tech world.

Okay, let's hypotheically say Miami isn't a career killer, can you name me a coach in the last 2 decades whose career has blossomed by coming here?

I get it, he's a former Cane & Miami is his dream job, he'll leave as soon as we offer him a nice contract & double his salary, then he'll come to Miami & start winning ships just like JJ...

When that happens let me know because I'll know soon after that Judgement day is near because **** must have frozen over.

Thats not what it is like at all. It would be like growing up your entire life in a nice city and getting your first few jobs there. You spend a couple years in the outskirts of an even nicer city, but then come back to your original city for another 8 years working. Then for the first time in you life, at the age of 43 you get whisked away to a schithole for a few years and then you spend another few years at a somewhat nicer schithole. Lots of people would "blow it up" to not have to live in a schithole.

It aint a question of how capable Mario is as a recruiter. This notion that he's killing it there is nonsense though. It certainly isn't a legitimate reason to use for why he wouldn't take the Miami job. There are plenty of other reasons. He's in a Rose Bowl and is stacking the class that coincides with the Rose Bowl season with 3-stars.

I think that's why he offered Mike Bobo for OC if the story is true. There are probably more creative young minds out there but Manny would have to be a risk taker.

UW lost Chris Peterson and Jimmie Lake is rookie head coach. USC has DB Clay Helton and 79th rated 2020 class. Stanford has 15 transfers and is a mess. The Pac12 is face down and *** up for Mario to rape!

Mario is on the cusp of nailing down two more Pac12 titles and maybe making a Playoff in his first 4 years at Oregon.. Not only will Oregon extend him and he will git his money now, he will be able to be in the conversation for any job he wants.. Saban retires and he will get looked at by Bama, NFL could come calling.. Or Mario can come home to the U on his own time and make them back the Brinks truck up to get him..

Mario would be a fool to walk away from what he has at Oregon, he has the chance to make his name go to the top of the college coaching ranks in the next two years!!

Mario's vision is also the Big Oline, pound the rock like Bama did with Mark Ingram and Derick Henry, he aint got that Oline at the U right now.. So The U is a total rebuild for Marios vision.. If Mario wants to make the playoff he has to open his offense up and get a little better in game as a coach.. If Mario makes the playoffs with his pound the rock and at times very predicable offense he will have the worst offense of the 4 teams..

I love lots about Mario.. He has a compete every day culture much like Pete Carrol did.. EE are coming in and if your good enough then you are pressing kids ahead of you for playing time in the Spring.. Mario is iron sharpens iron guy, he don't play favs, you keep what you kill in his program..

Between the leaks and Blake's response to them last night there definately is a power struggles going on. One being Zo is coming in to right the ship and get things together and Zo is one of Manny candidates to come in and assist in a chief of staff role under James. Don't know about he 7 mil story but there is definately infighting going on. Think Blake leaked in order to get ahead of the Zo knews and control the narrative.
