Ferman is hinting that Highsmith deal is on the way

No One:

Absolutely No One:

No seriously, No One. No. Body. Not a single soul for almost a decade :

2019 Peter Ariz: Jenn Strawleys a hooker who is the real reason UM football sucks!!!

Incels: Fire the woke SJW diversity hire!!!!!! Shes the true face of the enemy.

LSU has a woman with the same responsibilities and title as Strawley does. It is a macro operations based position with little to no authority or influence. Most of yall never even heard of her until a few months back.

Strawley aint the reason we are stuck with Manny or the reason the football program currently sucks. Stay focused, fellas.

(That's not to say Strawley shouldnt be let go. The entire department needs to be cleaned imo).

I think it could work, but AH doesn’t need complete autonomy. We need a buffer between James and the football program. We need somebody to rip HC a new a**hole when they drop games to teams like FIU. You shouldn’t need to take staff decisions away from your hc, if you do he probably shouldn’t be the head coach. Manny should however have to submit a list of candidates for open staff positions to AH for approval, if he agrees fine go get your guy manny if not look harder and try again. If/ when the time comes to hire a new HC AH puts a list together for James to sign off on, and then he should be allowed to shoot his shot at those candidates. Since it has been reported that James does not like to confront his coaches you hire someone to do it for him. To filter out the bulls***, and you have someone for the HC to run staff decisions by/ sign off on. It should bring accountability to the HC and football operation.

Not sure why other schools haven’t gone
Won't happen, no way he comes here to work under someone. He's in-line to get a way better gig in the NFL.

Can you elaborate or is this just a complete guess? What job is he in line for and why hasnt it happened yet?

It is a genius idea whether it’s him or someone else especially for us. The football program needs a change or new thinking.

But those people can’t hire and fire coaches. Zo would have that power like an NFL GM would. Probably a say over personnel too. How many coaches on the college level would be ok with that? That’s the interesting part.

They would probably prefer to work for and with a football guy not a talking suit nerd passing around the offering plate.

It’s genius if you have a GM who has to ok your staff and can make calls on your staff because that has been as big of an Achilles heal for the program.
Golden wouldn’t fire No D
Richt wouldn’t fire his son/himself as OC
Manny looks to be digging in on Enos

@The Franchise ....Whats your take?? (If true)
First, I would never believe a word emanating from Fairy Sperman’s rat sewer mouth.

Second, I’d like to know some specific things Highsmith has done in the NFL other than just having a job in the NFL.

Third, is this just more Glory Years “Miami guy” stuff, or is Highsmith a guy who really studies all of college football and not just guys with some past link to the program. I’ve been looking to get outside of that “Miami guy” rubric for a long time. If he’s willing and open to being a real student of every level of college football then that’s great.

Fourth, this program needs some toughness instilled, and this guy was one of the toughest guys to ever play here. He used to absolutely feast on blitzers. M

Fifth, is he an NFL guy at heart who maybe sees the Browns ship sinking and he’s exploring other options including hoping to stay in the NFL?

So Blake falls into the I can’t do my job so just take away his biggest responsibility and continue to pay him job.

I’ve started to see this candy *** crap more frequently as of late
Maybe highsmith doesn’t want to or isn’t qualified to do the other parts of the AD job but feels like he’d be a great fit as the football GM. It’s not like they’re paying that puppet James a ton of money or give him any real autonomy anyway.

Well, Highsmith wouldn’t work in Miami unless it was written into his contract that he answered directly to Frenk and the Board. I don’t think he wants to deal with that snake pit at the Hecht.

I'm pretty sure that was my point. Glad you agree.

The optics of this move look good but the only way it truly works is by taking power from both James and Manny. Manny can’t have the end all decision on staff, personnel, scheme, etc and Blake can’t have the power to be the only person involved in a coaching search or other relevant decision related to football.

Seems great on the surface but good luck luring a legit HC here in the future that can’t make his own decisions and have full control of his program. After Blake’s many **** ups im sure he realizes what hes done and is willing to let someone else take some heat. But Manny didn’t sign up to have a GM over him (he needs it but he’s not gonna be happy about it) and no other legit HC is going to want that either.
We aren’t hiring any established P5 HCs anyway. Neither is anyone else these days. Once a great HC establishes himself at a P5 program he pretty much stays put now.

The key is having a guy hiring people who knows what to look for in a hungry up and coming lower level HC. Those kinds of guys never come in with unlimited power. They’re always looked over by the AD. They earn more autonomy and money over time with success.

Or fire Blake and bring in a real AD. That seems to be the logical and rational thing to do but instead invent a position.

Bringing in AH, a guy that is very well thought of in the NFL as a GM type/ Football only GM is a Win for the program...it would give the football team a guy running the program with a front office NFL pedigree. Would instantly help provide some guidance to the program.

I doubt he comes here without getting the kind of control he needs to hire/fire and make changes that he sees fit

Only guys you're going to get now are up and coming G5 guys. Or retreads (who more often than not will not work out).

Honestly, there are some really good points being made here... it seems the the more logical move would just be to move on from Blake and hire a proven AD with a great track record.

Until we see a real commitment by the Miami admin that they are serious and are willing to do whatever is necessary and provide the resources to produce a championship football program, Miami fans will continue to spin in never-ending mediocrity and listen to bull**** and able to do nothing but **** and moan about what we see every year. that is the sad reality.
