Ferman - "I can confirm Strong wants the Miami job"

Fermen also thinks that we will spend under 2.2 mill to get a top coach... The guy is delusional.

Strong was the only coach Urban Meyer retained from Ron Zook's staff. He stayed until the 2010 season and was responsible for some of the defensive studs they had. Goes to Louisville and builds a winner that looked more like UM then UM has looked in ten years. Why again do we not want him?

The names connected to the program that are being tossed out now. Will be very far down on the board when it is close to making a hire. What we hear now is drool from retards that no nothing about the outside world.

This is the hope I'm clinging to as well.

I mean, on the surface, logic dictates you should at the very least wait until the end of the season to see how the Eagles end up in the standings. If I'm the AD I'm not finalizing a deal with any candidates until I get a chance to speak to Chip directly or his agent. I need to hear "no" before I go to the next option.

That would be the home run of all home run hires. Just by signing him we'd automatically jump 25-30 spots in the polls during the offseason and go from "others receiving votes (or even less than that)" to a top 10 team with a junior quarterback on the rise. Perception is reality and we'd suddenly go from the brunt of ESPN's jokes to being taken seriously and feared overnight.

I know this is all a pipe dream...but it's a beautiful dream and I'm not willing to let go of it just yet.

As I said earlier, aside from Herman and Butch, I like Strong.

That Louisville team that raped us in the Bowl game reminded me of how the 'Canes used to play. They were dirty. They talked chit and then kicked our ****. They played aggressive. They took 2 and 3 star rejects from South Florida and shoved it up our pie hole.

Give me that style of defense any day of the week. Again, Herman and Butch before Strong, but we can do worse. Much worse.

Yeah they kicked our teeth in that game. I'd take a coach that can make us play like that.

Obviously the Texas failure is worrying.

Yeah....Just like Gruden. Sperman is a joke. If Strong goes anywhere, it's because Texas is gonna can him and probably he ends up at FAMU or someplace similar.
