Feldman's Heisman top 5

Duke is a better football player than anyone on that list.

He would be number one on the list at this point if Folden didn't crap the sheets against Louisville, Nebraska and GT.

While you're right it'd also be different if Duke did have a signature day against a big time opponent on his resume. He may not have disappeared from this chatter so fast earlier in the year then. That said and as has been mentioned, that can (and will) all change on Nov. 15.

The coaches will have to help Duke have a signature day on November 15, 2014. If they allow F$U to load the box with defenders and harass Duke all game, then Duke won't have that signature game. If they call plays that force F$U to take guys out of the box, then Duke will go off and vault up the Heisman list. I hope James Coley calls the game of his life on November 15.

I'll just leave this here (my comment from a different thread during the summer):

Duke

He's going to exceed expectations this year. He's worked hard. You can see that clearly. Guys that work hard like that come into the season with a tremendous amount of confidence in their bodies. He's hungry.

He's the second best player I have ever seen at the high school level (second to SeanT). He's a great kid. Everything you hear about him is true. It makes sense: his mom is a very sweet lady, she bought me a meal when I went to go scout Norland one night. lol. He was a great teammate at Norland. He's been the same here at Miami.

He put Norland on his back every year since he was a sophomore. His teams advanced further every year, ending in a state championship victory during his senior year. He's going to do the same here. He put the team on his back as a freshman; he did the same as a sophomore, and he'll do it again this year.

As for his game, Duke is a football player. He would be a pro bowl DB, Slot, Safety, whatever. He'll succeed at whatever you task him with. As a running back, I like to see duke as a smaller, faster, Melvin Bratton. Like Bratton, he's an all purpose back with incredible moves, and great hands. But what separates Duke from Mel, is that he has outstanding vision. Vision like Frank Gore. Above all that, he's tough. That kid will die for the

:end rant:

Agreed. Kaaya may have as much to say about Duke getting an invite to NY in the end as Duke himself too. And Kaaya's say is directly predicated on a competent gameplan.

We are on the same page.

The Trophy is Dak Prescott's to lose IMO. but its good to see our player in the top 5 and bringing some national attention to Miami again.

One plays a gladiator type sport risking his body while also playing for free. The other makes millions of dollars and plays a sport with contact fouls, flopping, and superstar treatment.

Miami fans like what is popular at the moment. If we beat FSU and Duke balls out, it will be his time in the spotlight for Miami.

How many more Wisconsin running backs need to be hyped before people realize they're running behind gigantic Nordic Viking offensive lines year in year out. Can't think of one that's really done anything at the next level including the single season record holder

Too bad it wasn't this weekend. The team has momentum and FSU is coming off a shaky road win.

I guess getting some bumps and bruises healed up is a good thing, a little more rest for Duke and Yearby.

Our staff isn't much for preparation so the extra week for them is fairly meaningless.

That is true prep time does not seem to help our staff, BUT I bet Kaaya knows how to use it. This could be kids showcase. Criminoles have to focus on Duke. He was eating alive last year before he was hurt. If we get the chance, offense has to get it's foot on the feather people's neck and crush it and defense needs to get helmets on Rapist and keep getting them on him. Puck can throw and run but he does not like getting battered-- he is god remember. Sack on no sack, pain must be delivered every play. Forget bend crap, get on him and don't let loose. ******* can throw the ball so coverage is not as good as pressure plus pain. We can't sit on any lead. Have to keep coming for him every play. Hit smuck on running plays too. Pain = Fear = Exhaustion = Mistakes.

I really think he will, after the UL debacle we have seen clear changes with him and how he calls this offense. The defense was the issue all these games, Coley showed up for Nebraska and onward. Add in its against his former team and I'm sure he is motivated to call the game of his life.

Dak Prescott will lose the Heisman on Nov. 15th in Tuscaloosa

Duke'll pick it up about an hour after he loses it.

Rumblings of Ereck Flowers making a miracle recovery.....

are you serious? or is this a joke and im totally gullible....

even if he somehow made it back would he be game ready? dont mess with my mind like that, it would be incredible to have him back

Duke will single handedly will UM to a win over fsu. He's that good and that much of a natural born leader.

This will be like the 2002 game where UM was a huge favorite, and we were coasting by on past accolades. Everyone thought we'd roll them, but Fsu took it to us the whole game. Difference is Kaaya is better than Rix, and fsu didn't have Duke (even though Greg Jones played like a total savage).

I like all this **** right here. It'd make my year, anyway. Don't give a **** what else happens if we somehow pull off a win against FSU. I know one thing: we have as much or more than Louisville - even though they broke us in half. We may not get as many TOs as they did, but the blueprint to beat FSU this year has been constructed by good coaches already. Just follow it.

Maybe Duke Johnson should join those B1G RBs in the Heisman talk. His 1,486 yards from scrimmage leads the nation. #Miami

Agreed. Not sure why Melvin Gordon has been considered more favorably than Duke. Even a few weeks ago, Duke only trailed Gordon in rushing yardage by a small amount, and had a lot more receiving yards. The competition that Gordon has faced hasn't been any better either.

It shouldn't be Dak's to lose. Mariotta is playing far better than Prescott this year. Only difference is Mariotta doesn't get the automatic SEC upgrade.

The thing holding Duke back from getting talked about more in comparison to MG3 is his rushing TD #s. MG3 has double the amount of Dukes rushing TDs.
