THIS WEEK’S HEISMAN TOP FIVE

1. Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon Ducks

2. Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State Bulldogs

3. Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin Badgers (more on him in a few minutes)

4. Duke Johnson, RB, Miami Hurricanes

5. Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama Crimson Tide

Johnson, the versatile Miami star, has made a big move in the past few weeks. He’s averaging 197 all-purpose yards (rushing and receiving) in the past six games, as the young Canes offense has begun to heat up. Johnson has a puncher's chance to get to New York, especially if he can have a big game when FSU visits UM Nov. 15.

Duke will single handedly will UM to a win over fsu. He's that good and that much of a natural born leader.

This will be like the 2002 game where UM was a huge favorite, and we were coasting by on past accolades. Everyone thought we'd roll them, but Fsu took it to us the whole game. Difference is Kaaya is better than Rix, and fsu didn't have Duke (even though Greg Jones played like a total savage).

Just seeing a Cane in NY will be such a breath of fresh air to the program

Duke will run for 200+ against that porous defense. Payback for breaking his ankle last year.

duke is a beast and deserves any and all accolades. Still not sold on the defense. So i will not drink the Koolaid just yet.

Imagine if Chip Kelly gets him next year.

He's one of if not the best all-around athlete in the country. I don't care if the consensus is not to draft running backs early. It's kind of stupid considering that RB's still touch the ball 20 ******* times a game. If he keeps balling out, I expect Edge-like movement with his draft stock. Not to the top 5, but earlier than currently predicted.

Too bad it wasn't this weekend. The team has momentum and FSU is coming off a shaky road win.

I guess getting some bumps and bruises healed up is a good thing, a little more rest for Duke and Yearby.

Our staff isn't much for preparation so the extra week for them is fairly meaningless.

Duke has the chance to be the player who restores the U back to its prominence!!! If he rushes for 150, gets 50+ receiving yards and we win he my leader in the Heisman!

I wonder if Jacory will let Duke borrow that Heisman pimp suit he was going to wear? Sorry, couldn't resist.

Irrespective of his Miami pedigree, Feldman is one the best college football journalists out there. No wonder eSECpn fired him.

Duke is a better football player than anyone on that list.

He would be number one on the list at this point if Folden didn't crap the sheets against Louisville, Nebraska and GT.

I hope Coley is going to find a way to get creative...

I have a feeling FSU will load the box and dare young Brad to beat us... if he can start connecting on some passes and long passes that is going to open the run big time for Duke...

OLine has to have their big boy pants on all game

I agree Duke would excel in the Eagles' offense, but they already have LeSean McCoy.

Of course that is what F$U is going to do. This game will be about coaching because the teams have comparable athletes. I'm sure UM's coaches will draw the soam conclusion. The question is whether they can come up with a game plan that will combat UM's defensive game plan, and make adjustments if and when the game plan changes, or are they going to look like a bunch of amateurs out there? I might be wrong, but I have faith in James Coley and Brad Kaaya.

While you're right it'd also be different if Duke did have a signature day against a big time opponent on his resume. He may not have disappeared from this chatter so fast earlier in the year then. That said and as has been mentioned, that can (and will) all change on Nov. 15.

I know it gets tiring comparing to the older teams, but cot dammit I can't help it but think of this game
