Feldman on Goldens

They all want the job ... until they get here. This ain't the **** MAC...

My Concern is Donna firing him now and picking the New Coach... she clearly has not done a good job with that. We Need to pick the new PRES ASAP so we can get the ball rolling on the Coaching BS. Unless she gives Coley the interim title.... And only 'Interim'... That should keep the Recruits at bay

I truly believe that Al is going to be out...

Thanks for your Service but its time for you to let an Alpha coach this team

Some key things to take away there is that he tried to run out of town for the Penn State job and that ****ed everybody and their brother off at the admin offices. That, "They like how he handled the Shapiro mess," is true but that will not save him. Shalala likes him the least. While I agree with the premise that they ideally didn't want to make a change, my gut tells me a USF-2010 performance with Pitt will get him fired. Just a hunch.

Couple of points:

1. Why would Folden still be getting credit for continuing to accept his $2.5M check during the ncaa investigation AFTER trying to sneak out of here in the middle of the night to ped state?

2. If Shalala hates him as she should for embarrassing her and UM, then why wouldn't she stick it to him by firing him on her way out?

3. He just had the USF moment against a ****** UVA club. That was a bad team that completely dominated us and made our guys quit. They beat us down far worse than USF did. They completely dominated us from the 2nd quarter on.

4. Why would they fire the black UM hero for producing a better overall product, yet keep the white guy who tried to slink off to another school a year ago?

like i said, even with the UVA loss, which is terrible. I still think they will give him a pass for the rest of this season due to shannon and shapiro.

Nobody loves the state of New Jersey more than Alfred Golden...It's time to bring him home.

Paging: RUTGERS

Feldman's hunch, and it's a pretty credible one, is that Alfred would leave ON HIS OWN this winter if given an opportunity. Jesu Christo, if that's true then this administration is beyond what we even assumed it to be if a negotiated buyout isn't already in the works.

Oh poor Al decided to "stick it out" in a dirty cheap dilapidated torture chamber such as the University of Miami when he could have just stayed in such a scenic and vibrant place such as Temple University.

He deserves a statue built in his honor

if a negotiated buyout isn't already in the works.

That's what I'm hoping takes place. He can use that family medical excuse as a reason to walk away (saving face) for a while, re-group with a few extra million of wink-wink money.. and everyone sleeps a little easier.

It's time for a change, if the administration can't see that well we are in for another long and painful 12 months of watching more of the same.

It's pretty obvious he's returning next season unless he takes another job. I have a strong feeling about this and it's killing me. Just hope that he leaves.

FWIW, I felt Shannon was getting fired even before the USF game.

No..you hope they give him a pass for those sorry *** reasons you mentioned. The shapiro lame excuse is behind us and Shannon was actually better than Golden from a result/ substance stand point. Not to mention he left Golden one of the most take Talented and experinced teams in the acc. golden went 5-6 with that talent giving a clear indication of things to come.

Lol I love when people say "he stood by us during the investigation". What does that even mean? It's not like he was fighting the ncaa. All he did was coach the team to underachieve. If he was offered a job he would have left right away. And we all saw that when Penn State called. F u golden, you're not fooling me, you haven't done sh*t for this program.

He did himself in last off season. I think people would be calling for Coordinators jobs instead of Goldens if he didn't try and leave. So there is absolutely no sympathy for him. We all know he isn't Miami material now but since he did get us through a hard time we would all probably agree he can have 1 last shot with a revamped staff. Since he tried to leave he doesn't deserve a second chance.

the killshot for Grohlden would be ASU or USC in the Sun Bowl, even though I think we've stunk our way outta that one, but that would be a slaughter

Had he not "stood by us" we may be in even better shape today just in terms of "the cloud". Had he bolted, the "illegality" of the investigation and the ramifications it was having would have been dealt with much quicker as public perception against the NCAA would have been ramped exponentially. It would have been viewed as the NCAA completely destroying a program just by the process of a prolonged and dirty investigation.

Not surprising. I've resigned myself to the unfortunate reality that he will be back next year. Let's just hope the next President actually gives a **** about winning.

He stood by us is such BS. he was at temple in one of the worst neighborhoods in philly. this guy never was around a program like UM. he wasnt giving it up.

Boston College fired their Head Coach for even being in contact with the Jets

Boston ******* College. ...

The most encouraging statement in there is that the administration has actually discussed making a move. Regardless, they don't this year they have talked about it and know that he isn't the guy. Nevingate like Feldman posted is the excuse to give him the 5th year if he doesn't bail on us on his own. Don't get me wrong, I want him gone just as bad as the rest of us but the administration has been the biggest concern and it sounds like they know what they need to do and that my folks is a win within itself
