Feldman on Finebaum

I'm willing to bet that the people that like the idea of bringing Cristobal "home", LOVE the idea of hiring Monte Kiffin's son. And Finebaum agreeing with you is only symptomatic of that clown overvaluing everything and everyone in the $EC. I wouldn't even swap Coley for Kiffin let alone hire him to put the final nail in our collective casket as head corch.

Kiffin is MILES ahead of Coley as an OC. He's also better than Golden as an HC.

Comments like this are why are fans are stuck in the past.

Butch did something 20 years ago, he can repeat it. Kiffin got fired by USC, he must be terrible.

You know who else got fired before figuring things out as he matured ... Pete Carroll. But before he did, he was just a guy who was a pretty good DC ...

And check the USC rosters Kiffin played with, then check his 3 year record with USC versus Butch Davis' 3 year record with Miami. Yall might be surprised at the similarities ...

You have diarrhea of the keyboard.

Dude ... USC was docked 30 scholarships during Kiffin's time there.

Yeah, do that. But subtract thirty scholarships from Kiffen during that same time period, and Kiffin's just another ****.

I would take Kiffin in a heartbeat at this point. He has no track record of success. But he's the anti-Golden. And at this point, that's enough for me. Sark acknowledged this week how incredible a job Kiffin did recruiting under the cloud. Would Kiffin be in my top ten list of candidates in an ideal world? No. But, let's be honest: Miami is not a draw for established, big time coaches. Our fan base sucks. Our stadium sucks. Our Admin sucks. And we don't pay top dollar. Now, if we hire Cristobull, we're super f*cked.

Lane Kiffin's one year at Tennessee he had a roster that included 13 players that would be later drafted into the NFL including 8 players in the top 4 rounds and three 1st rounders and he went 7-6 while losing to a UCLA team at home that went 7-6 and an Auburn team at home.

That's the difference between him and Butch if you want to get whiny. Butch lost to better teams and Kiffin lost to worse teams. Above all else, as scholarships improved Butch's team got better and Kiffin's teams got worse.

8 wins and he's not going anywhere. Mark my words.[

8 and he is so gone doggg...

I'm 50-50 on this. On one hand, a lot of folks(alumni, fans, staff, etc.) would be upset if we only win 8 games with the amount of talent we have and how weak most of our opponents should be leaving the admin no other choice but to drop Golden. Then again, there's been rumors that the admin is clueless and would probably applaud Golden for winning two more games than last year.

Boy oh boy

If Kelly gets canned in Philly.... Watch the F out.....

Im just sayin....

Can you imagine Chip fkn Kelly... with SFL speed?

It wouldnt be fair, fellas..

Im talking dropping 80 points on ACC teams... at halftime.

I've said it a million times but Chud for HC in 2016, and bring in Dorsey to be OC, or maybe just keep Coley depending if he improves this year. One big reason Chud would sign is because he is still getting paid by the Browns for his 4 year contract, so getting paid $3M/yr (or whatever bull**** we'd offer) wouldn't be bad at all to him.

And while I don't like Kiffin, I do see the appeal in him. Lets be honest, Kiffin WILL be on most colleges short list of candidates. He is an ace recruiter, and he is a good OC. The problem is he just isn't a good HC, or at least hasn't shown he is, but he will continue to get chances because he is young. Kiffin is only 40 years old. He's 6 years older than Golden and had soo much more experience in big name positions. He was the HC of the Raiders (Which ******* sucked), Tennessee, and USC. and Now he is having a lot of success as OC at Bama.

Coley wont stay and that is fine....

I have not been impressed with his recruiting honestly.

I'm just looking for consistency from the BBB crew.

So, Kiffn has 13 pros on the Tennessee team, and you knock him for the record he had in his only season there after they had just fired a coach, right?

Now, remind me how many players Butch had drafted from his UNC teams and tell me why he never finished higher than 3rd in the Coastal?

I'm not knocking Butch ... But I find it interesting that people keep knocking other candidates who are just as unproven as Butch was when he got the UM job. Fans wanted to fire Butch, too .. But he figured it out.

Who's to say Kiffin can't figure it out?

Seriously ... The names people love today would have been talked about to no end 5-6 years ago ...

Had we stolen the OC from a gimmicky Oregon team, fans would have been griping about taking Chip Kelly. But now, he's awesome!

Had we taken the coach from the University of Cincinnati 10 years ago, fans would have gone crazy! Who's Mark Dantonio?

And while many are on the "we should have hired Gary Patterson or Kevin Sumlin" train, now, both of those guys were getting knocked for coaching at TCU and Houston.

Fans who want the BOT and admin to have some vision for the future ought to follow their own advice ...

We're not "going BACK to the future" ...

I've got no clue if Kiffin or Chad Morris would be successful as our HC ... But both are realistic, and both would come with equivalent or better credentials than our last 4 coaches, including Butch when he was hired, IMO.

The problem with UNC is recruiting. No matter how badass you are at recruiting at UNC you cannot sell you will ever be anything other than 2nd behind the BBall team. USC and Tenn are known for football and known to get exposure because USC is just that name and the $ec. I like Butch but am open to other people coaching at Miami, but you put Butch and Lane on equal playing ground and you will see Butch kill Kiffin.

Just give me a competent HC who knows XOs, can hire good coordinators, make in game adjustments, and run a program. Any halfway decent coach, who can get along with recruits parents, would kill it down here. Chip Kelly (never gonna happen) would win immediately and destroy teams immediately. While I would love to say Scott Frost, he has no real experience, and we need someone with experience IMO.

Put me in the group that thinks Kiffiin can grow and become a good HC. However, we are not in a position to see if someone is going to get better as a coach.

Chad Morris is a name that I'm surprised doesn't get more play here. I know he's in his first year at SMU, but I think if Miami came with a comparable offer he would listen.

Morris knows that his best talent came from the state of Florida and he'd kill here. He would just need to hire a GREAT DC and that's where the trouble would come. His system would put a lot of pressure on the defense.
