Feldman- Aranda Possibly To Baylor

Between Bliss and Briles it should've been shuttered as an institution. I guess having Ken Starr as president somehow allowed them to survive. No to mention Waco really is in Kabumfuk, Texas so there was no local pressure. Probably only local support if I had to guess.

Are you serious? It's like 45 minutes from Dallas, which is bigger than metro Miami. That's like saying Palm Beach is Kabumfuk.

Baylor is a better school than Miami in every way. They have a better football team and play in a better football conference. They play in a better stadium. Their recruiting base is at least equal to Miami's.

And if they get Aranda, they have a better coaching staff. I would put money down to say that Baylor wins a natty before Miami does.

Their school's endowment is several times as large as Miami's. And their academic reputation is far, far better.

Even Baylor's medical system is FAR FAR more successful than Miami's - in every measurable way.

Miami should hope and aspire to one day be at Baylor's level - academically, financially, and athletically. We're far from it today.

That's the reality of Miami 2020.

It's 45 min from DFW metro.
DFW is really hot area. Lots of everything going on out there. If I was willing to leave Paradise in SoFL I could have any of a 1/2 dozen jobs at least double my salary plus bonus. Too old and comfortable working from home for that but the place is jumping.

There's a reason that houses in Waco that would go for $400k in South Florida are like $98k there.

Take your meds. You're having Central Texas delusions of grandeur.

Did you have to spell that out so clearly! True and very depressing BUT they will never ever be what we have been. Our history ranks with all time ND, OU, Bama and USC. Baylor might get on NC one day and be akin to BYU. As much as I want another NC before I meet our Maker, I would not trade our greatness for it. There, that made me feel better.

I doubt he’ll ever be a more valuable stock than he is right now.

Make the move, and see what happens.

Worst case, he’s not successful and they fire him. He’ll get buyout money and be in high demand to be a DC.

Best case ... He’s successful, and has the option of staying at Baylor of taking a better job.

No lose situation, really ...
I'd probably be comfortable riding out my $2m DC salary at a lifetime job. But, no doubt, it's now or never for Aranda if he wants to try his hand at the HC gig.
