I respect anybody who puts family first…

But if he ends up taking the same role at another top tier program then the demand and expectations of him and his work won’t change and I’ll then take his statement as the “temptations of the city got the best of him… got caught and the wife told him it’s either your family or this city because he f*cked up.”

Men or women who chose high earning careers make time sacrifices that their partners understand comes with the territory. It’s the extra sh*t that often comes with high earners that some partners can’t/wont deal with.

X would have done that w feeley or Feld imo. both were fine SnC guys. my biggest issue was the injury issues but its hard to pinpoint who its on without knowing any real inside on the training/practice schedules/etc.

also, if you give credit to Feld for X playing 80 snaps then is it also his fault that X gained a ton of bad weight and looked slow as **** at his pro day?

I know some on here weren’t fans of his anyways. Will be interesting to see how or if there is any change in performance

I liked Feld I never thought he couldn’t develop our guys physically. Our OL DL seemed to be strong. Hope we fill his spot with a proven guy

The roster change is part of the improvement, especially on the o-line. I’m a big critic of Manny as well, but I don’t want to blame everything that happened during that ‘22 season on the roster. It was a complete failure of the program, from coaches to players. Who knows, Feld may have actually improved the players in their strength & conditioning, but we didn’t see it on the field due to all our other issues.

Other coaches have taken over programs and that program will look light years better in that first year. Obviously, the improved performance and record makes the strength and conditioning look better. That didn’t happen in Mario’s 1st year. Everything looked worse. Again, I’m not blaming Mario for everything. He’s made huge strides since then and we are looking like a team that can annually compete with the big boys.

It’s a great feeling to know we will never be a weak and poorly conditioned team under Mario. Will we ever be elite again? I don’t know, but we are trending that way.

respect your opinion but agree to disagree. I always say you change the people in your uniform you change the results on the field most likely. There are X and O geniuses that can come in and change the program to respectability and even make some noise. But the X and O geniuses at the college level rarely ever build a machine like program. The machine like programs that are well oiled (pause) are always the ones with a CEO elite recruiter at the helm, that stacks upon stacks. Those are the teams that stay at the top and the assistants benefit from that and even the coaches. Thats how I look at it...I think most players work hard. Do you have guys that dont work hard? Yes and they get pushed out, but even the jags that we will never hear of work as hard they just aren't good enough.

You bring the best and if they work hard your team will change on the field. I said year 1 even Saban would not win and I said that before the season started. The roster was so bad, I was screaming to fire Manny the day he got hired cause I knew he would ruin the roister based on his linebacker evals. And they gave him control as a talent evaluator? Almost completely ruined the program. He can coach a Duke, but a UM where we want titles? He cant because he could not bring in the best

Feld seemed to do a solid job the last two years. First year is a reset year so who knows. It’s not on him we had a line full of centers. But last year we had pretty decent injury luck. I say decent as rivers Bain and damari missed time but it’s football.

This is a big hire to make and Mario needs to not miss
