Feagles speaks on freshman struggles, hopeful for 2018 turnaround

I can't speak personally about the transition from HS to D1 for any player, but in Feagles case it seems fairly obvious it's a lack of concentration.
This first game may be a good barometer to see if he has been able to make corrections

concentration? I think the wants to be great and works towards it, but its more that his nerves get the best of him..

Basic math, my friend. You eliminate those shanks and his average goes way up. Had he averaged 38 yards with no shanks, he'd have no leg. Watch some of his punts that were not shanks and you'll see a good leg. The talent is there. He lead the conference in shanks and it hurt his average.

That's like saying all you need to do is eliminate buying stocks that go down and your stock portfolio would be fantastic.

are walk on game needs to step up if there is no one on roster to challenge him. He was the worst punter we had in over a decade. I was high on him coming in as well being Feagles son. I expect some improvement. But i still want another guy there for when he sh*ts the bed...he had some bad stretches last year.

Short of catching every snap and lightning the ball on fire this season, he really has nowhere to go but up.

I dont know if this has been said yet but stats can be deceiving, feagles may have been last in the acc in avg yrds per punt, but the one thing he did do well, and i'd like to know is where was he ranked when it came to hangtime, cause from what i could see that seemed pretty good, which is more important than punt yard average any day of the week, so im good with what the freshman jeff did, nobody ran a punt back on us or a kick-off return. Remember, as the roster talent improves, so will the special teams talent. Coach hartley is doing a solid job.

While jeff thomas has speed, he's no devin hester, never did i feel like jeff was going to break one. We got a better chance of dj dallas breaking one than if last year's jeff thomas shows up, but he's realiable back their catching the ball.

All we got outta that piece was

I think.
I hope.
I want.
I need.
I expect.

'“It’s just the consistency off the field,” Feagles said on his improvement. '

Off the field? Fk my life......

Just kick the ******* ball downfield!!!!

It’s almost as if he never punted before & they just said eh **** it his dad played here. Need to recruit a new punter & show this kid the door.

Pull his scholarship. Why the **** does a kid whose dad I’m sure has a net worth in the millions get a free ride? Have daddy pay his tuition and give that scholarship to litteraly anyone else.

Miami really has a kicker named BUBBA BAXA that went 4/10 in HS. Offered him a scholarship. He's getting a 50K+/yr scholarship for 4/10 kicks in HS. There is a poor kid in Lil Havana that gets straight As in HS that won't get a dime from Miami to go to that school...but they offering free education to 4/10 kickers.

Blows my mind man.

The absolute insane thing is how the staff watched Feagles **** the bed last year, watched him with no improvement in practice, and did not deem it necessary to get a grad transfer or recruit a new punter. Just an absolute failure by the staff all around.
