Favorite player from the **** Era (2005-2024)

In the lobby of the team hotel before the Independence Bowl, in front of my kids I told Duke "it would make you uncomfortable if you knew how much I love you." He laughed.

Duke.

No Graig Cooper 20 replies in is surprising

There are several more I could name.

Collier
C Mac44
Craig Coop
Marcus Robinson
Pata **RIP**
Kenny Phillips
Brevin
Tyrone Moss **RIP**

Funny thing is I could give a list of players that sucked and I couldnt stand and it’d ve just as long lol.

****, I forgot about Lamar.

AQM doesn't make the cut for me on this list but he's one of the guys you wonder what could have been under a different regime. One of the most physically imposing players I've seen on campus over many, many years.

Surprised no one mentions guys like Colin Mccarthy or Allen Bailey. :)

Allen Bailey was a beast, and Colin Mccarthy was a classic overachieving Linebacker.

Once Duper starting working out with Leonard Hankerson, guy turned into an absolute beast of an WR.

Don't need to forget guys like Braxton Berrios, Greg Olsen, and Sean Spence was great as well.

Can we not refer to that as the **** era, btw? There was some good football played in the time period. I refer to it as the 'lost decades'.

Mentioned both, def forgot about Hankerson though. I remember watching that 3 TD game @ Clemson like it was yesterday.

My first season being a real canes fan was 2010 (8 years old), my family didn’t have cable so I would go on the computer and pull up the ESPN game cast and have Canes Radio for the audio and I’d sit there and monitor every second.

top favorites since then:

- Duke Johnson
- Gerald Willis
- Jaquan Johnson
- David Njoku/Clive Walford (tie)
- Jaelan Phillips
- X
- Philip Dorsett
- D’Eriq King
- RJ McIntosh

Always thought of N'joku as the dynamic TE (ala Shannon Sharpe, etc.), whereas Clive Walford was the classic 'check-down, grind it out' TE.

Two very different ways of being a TE being played very well. :)

IMO, Clive would be amazing in this system we have now.

Clive being our all time receiving leader at tight end is a solid piece of trivia

So my entire lifespan is referred to as the **** era, nice

With that being said: Duke, Perryman, Dorsett, N'kosi, Rambo, Berrios, Njoku, Corn
