Favorite Canes Gators memory/moment

My two favorites, from when I was at UM…

1980: Howard kicks a FG with one second left to rub it in to their ****** fans 31-7

1981: Danny Miller 55-yard FG with no time left beats the Gator 21-20

Danny and Flea Davis...took this Pic in 81 in Coral Gables.

1981: When Danny Miller hit that 55 yarder, there were 40 seconds remaining. Florida got the ball back and attempted a 59 yard FG for the win but it was short.

Hogtown 1980: Canes 31, Gators 7.

The famous ending us old-timers won't forget (per an 2019 ESPN story on the UM-UF rivalry):

In 1980, Florida fans started pelting Miami players with oranges after a late touchdown gave the Hurricanes a 28-7 lead. Then-Miami coach Howard Schnellenberger decided to do something about it. He called a last-minute timeout so he could add a field goal to the final score with 1 second remaining. Miami won 31-7. Schnellenberger said afterward, "I did that because I wanted the press to come and ask me why I kicked the field goal.

Unfortunately, I enjoyed the butt-whipping too much and didn't get to see the ending.

Spent so much time trash talking (or whatever it was us high school kids did back then) my oldest brother (a diehard Gator) that my dad got tired of both listening to my mouth and my brother trying to punch me in it. So we ended up leaving with a few minutes left on the clock

Also, I flew down from Chattanooga to Miami for the 2013 game with my wife and then 1 year old. We changed planes in Atlanta and not only were there a ton of UM fans on our plane, but Brock Berlin and his wife and baby were sitting in front of us. His wife saw my Miam hat, and we started talking, and then I ended up talking to Brock for most of the flight. One of the nicest people I've ever met. He was the honorary captain for the 2013 game.

For me (and probably most on here) it's Devin Hester KR TD and it's not close. Curious to see what others would stack up against it.

Some great moments, but this has to be it for me as well. My first game as a freshman at Miami. The OB was so **** loud after that kickoff. Top it off with the comeback at the end.

2003 by far for the game, had 27 messages on my phone at half from my **** friends. Aaaaand after the game crickets.

2013 Postgame because my daughter was conceived at the hotel after that one.

Semper Canes!!!
03 by a mile for sure.

I called my dad on the phone when Hester took the opening kickoff back. I remember getting superstitious in the middle of the comeback refusing to celebrate until we took the lead.

'03 at the OB. What an incredible comeback. She was rocking that night. Bit of a bittersweet memory though...

I had bought a Devin Hester shirt somebody on Grassy was making and selling...it had a 👽 on the front (we were calling him that before he ever played a game at the U...I'm sure some of you remember. So much hype...he lived up to it too).

Anyways, that's the shirt I wore to the game. After it ended, me and my girl walked down to the team buses and we saw Hester on his way to the bus and he stopped and autographed the sleeve. A custom Devin Hester T shirt signed by Devin mother****ing Hester. Unfortunately for me, this GOAT shirt was lost in a move...
