FAU commit James King offered

The bright side is we really (hopefully) don't need this kid to play next year, barring multiple injuries. Then, if I had to pick 3 guys to stick in the 2016 class it would be McCloud, Shaq, and Mike.. all 3 LB. They should all come in and put this guy back in the depth chart, not even knocking him. It's a BTW kid, maybe he is boys with Carriere-Williams next year or some other stud. Worst comes to worst he is a RS next year then 4 yr special teams guy

Booker t kid...i fully expect him to compete and not give up a spot.

I would recruit a kid like him every class...a kid that fellt under appreciated and WANTS to play here...u recruit those types locally..because thy will give their all.

I see a 6'1 225pd lb as a rs freshman....lkid looks alot like Juwand Blue a kid that was turning the corner before the incident and was about to log mins for us last year...

Bash the kid? No.

Bash the staff for their incompetence? Si.

And this is exactly why this site has gone bananas. LOL. This logic right here. lol.

I respect ya, Mach but this is like saying to your homeboy, "Bro, your fiancé is ugly as ****, why the **** would you marry that fat pig?" Then turning to the fiancé and saying, "No offense babygirl, im not mad at you. Its him that I am blame. We still cool right?"

Fans like me have a hard time toting the line between hating Golden and the admin so much and being negative...and not doing things to make the players feel like we don't appreciate them or care.

Its a tough tight rope to walk that's for sure.

I hear you. I don't mean to dis a kid. How else do I express my opinion on a recruit though? I'm not bashing kids, I'm just giving my honest assessment. How do you give an honest evaluation without "dissing" a kid or not being appreciative of their commitment?

Speaking of offending kids and/or not appreciating them...

Over the last few years I've had arguably 5 kids that were Miami caliber. One of them ended up here but the other 4 weren't even considered. (3 of them were during the Golden era) You don't think those kids felt under-appreciated by their local program? You don't think they were offended? You don't think the countless kids from Miami and Broward that Miami ignores don't feel dissed, particularly when they're receiving offers from BETTER programs?

Reflect on your coaching staff not us casual fans with limitless opinions. The only one dissing and offending kids around here is Al Golden.

That's one of the biggest problem with running a scheme that doesn't fit the local talent. You can end up alienating an entire community and your own recruiting base.

Having just watched his Junior highlights, I must say I'm pretty impressed. Plays fast, physical, has good instincts. Just needs to get bigger. Good redshirt candidate.

You need these kinds of 3 star blue collar type kids. Especially from a big time local pipeline. UM needs to be regularly taking kids from BTW, and other local schools. They cant all be 5 star studs, but sometimes if you strike out with Plan A, a local Plan B athletic kid that plays at the highest level of competition, from a feeder school, is the next best thing.

As I said when we landed him, I would much rather take a chance on this kid, than some unkown random kid from Wisconsin or Nevada.

No doubt, but there's better "3 star blue collar type kids" down here, that's the issue.

You guys are only saying this cause he goes to BTW. If he went to Hollywood Hills you guys would be blowing your lid and wondering why we signed a kid with offers from UCF, FAU and Utah.

I don't necessarily disagree with you. There may be better ones. Obviously the staff felt he fit the bill better, or maybe he was more of a realistic option to accept a late offer than other kids. That is really the issue. Its not that they should have offered X 3 months ago, its that they struck out with option 1, and Option 2 had to be a kid who WOULD accept a late offer.

I wouldn't be B8tching about a kid from Hollywood. My point was if we are going to take a late flyer on a 3 star, plan B kid, I prefer it to be a So Fla kid, and if he happens to be from a good program and a feeder school to UM that we need to keep strong ties to, then all the better.

And it may be valid. Lot of people like Talan and felt he was a better prospect than this kid. But what can we do? We are fans. The coaches made their evals and obviously felt they liked this kid's upside more than Talan. On the bright side, if their evaluation was wrong, as it has been before, we wont have to endure many more seasons of these blunders.

LOL. Of course I do, cause I couldn't possibly give my opinion without being mad, right? SMH

I love the kid. I'm just glad he is going to play college football somewhere, especially considering his story. Why would I be mad that he didn't get an offer from the 6-7 Miami Hurricanes when he got offers from Oregon State, Pitt, Nebraska and TCU? (among others) Those staffs are held in much higher regard than ours and have a better track record of developing kids like Talan.

I'm more frustrated that our coaches continue to ignore kids like him. I would be bothered by his "recruitment" even if I didn't know the kid. (just like I was with the Skai Moore, Ronnie Hoggins and Isiah McKenzie recruitment) It's frustrating to see Miami ignore local playmakers that have offers from schools who would mop the floor with the Hurricanes. (or already have mopped the floor with us)

******' Narduzzi and Patterson offered Talan and you guys are cool with Al Golden passing him up? LOL

Let that sink in.

Gary Patterson...

And Pat Narduzzi...

EVALUATED and OFFERED Talan.

Anybody in here think Golden can evaluate players better than those two guys?

LOL. Like really let that sink in.

Narduzzi offered or at least had a part in offering Gordinier very early in the cycle while at Michigan State. So did Nebraska. Are you a big fan of Gordinier too?

Don't really know much about the kid but I'm definitely a fan of Narduzzi (MSU & Pitt) and Riley (Nebraska).
